Escorting her across the United States gives Dominant Nolan the perfect opportunity to seduce the beautiful heiress into becoming his girlfriend…and his submissive. Now she must choose between the future she imagined for herself, and the one Nolan is offering.

Except that time is running out… With hired guns at their backs and a shadowy group of billionaires targeting Lola, even jaded Nolan never believed politics could get this dirty. We were left with such a cliffhanger with book one I had to immediately jump into book two and I finished in a few hours.  Where I would call book one a romantic suspense book two is straight Erotica.  Scorching, panty melting erotica!  Oh my! Sweden bordered on the point of almost having too much sex and not enough story in book 2. She laid out so much of the plot in book one.  The problem with this, is the sex scenes can become dull and pointless to the story.  It was close to that point of, anymore sex scenes and I would have skimmed.  It’s a fine line on erotica, when there is too much sex and not enough story.  Sweden walked that line with book two. The overall story was well thought out and the characters were amazing.  The relationship between Nolan and Lola was predictable yet fascinating.  Like book one it was hard to put myself in that headspace of true yet reluctant submissive.  The overbearing Neanderthal behavior is fine in the bedroom but anywhere else, nut punch city.  I will admit I had no idea who the bad guy was and I loved that. That is what makes the book a great suspense....Sara

The Southern Gentleman, True Consequences (Book 2), Dominant Heroes Collection,  Sweden Reese Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance, Erotica I loved book one, a fantastic debut which ended on a cliff-hanger, and by now most who read my reviews will know I Hate Those! However, both parts of the novel are bing released simultaneously – Hurrah. Its something I’m always publicly wishing for, that if books have to be divided up, release the whole story together or at least within a few weeks. Stories where I have months – years even sometimes – between parts lose all the build up, the excitement, the craving for knowing what's going to happen next. So thank you Sweden :-) A huge thank you, for releasing the story this way!!! So we ended book one with Nolan and Lola finally giving in to the attraction, with Nolan giving Lola what they both want, a spanking, some discipline and a good effing....not knowing that some sleazy pap had filmed it. When the story hits the press, along with all sorts of allegations it really is a case of sh it meet fan. Lola can’t believe the way everything has been twisted, its disaster for her mum, disaster for Nolan if people believe the line that's being peddled about abuse, about him supposedly beating her up. She doesn’t know what to do, she’s out of her depth, loves what they did, has incredibly strong feelings for Nolan and doesn’t want his business to get hurt, doesn’t want her mum to get caught up in the scandal, has to convince her parents that she was consenting, that Nolan isn’t coercing her to take part, has to persuade dad that he doesn't need to put a hit out on Nolan... Nolan can’t see it as just being a stray pap got lucky, after all the things that have been happening to Lola in an effort to damage her mums campaign. He’s determined to track down who’s behind all these things, but time is running out, there’s only days left til the election and they need to refute this latest PR disaster ASAP. He comes up with a unique suggestion..... I love Nolan, its clear he knows exactly what he wants, he’s had time to learn, to find what does and doesn’t work for him, and if things were different maybe he’d give Lola a bit longer, but they aren’t and he can’t.  Lola, she seems so young in some way as she’s been kept out of the kind of things most of us do in out teens, that life’s learning curve that lets us make mistakes, lets us grow and find our feet. With her parents all too public position she’s always been kept out of anything that might create the slightest scandal, and now at 23 she’s finally having a rebellion. She doesn’t want to hurt her parents, is right behind her mum’s campaign, but she’s tired of being controlled, wants to make some decisions for herself. So far though they’ve put her in some possibly life threatening scenes, certainly ones that hold great danger for her, and its only been a few days ;-) Given the way she’s trying to wrest some control of her life from her parents you’d think she would resent Nolan and his need to always make the decisions, his need to have her submit to him 24/7, and yet his control is very different to what she’s used to. Its done with her wants and needs in mind, whereas her parents have their own positions in the forefront of what she’s allowed to do.  I can see why she and Nolan fit so well together, its not something that would work for me, but for Lola and Nolan its a real need not just a desire. This story started off where the last one ended. Although on a much happier note. What way to start off a book, I mean woo that was a sexy scene. I absolutely loved the fact that although these books were sexy as all get out the dynamics between Lola and Nolan was absolutely amazing. Although the dominance and submission in this book were quite strong what was also strong in this book was the love, caring, deviance, and absolute protective instincts. These characteristics is what made this book so sensational. Throughout this book the author gives the reader such a strong sense of who these characters are and how they will react to any given situation. And yet this author still managed to surprise the reader with all of the little twists and turns that no one could have seen coming. I would definitely recommend this book to any readers who loves erotica, D/S, romance, or suspense stories. And I would definitely recommend this author to anyone who wants to believe that the characters they are reading are real, and who loves to see the characters emotions/actions playing out in their minds. This is not a book/series/author you will want to miss out on.

LOVED this book! This is a very sexy romantic suspense with a twist. Lola, the daughter of a presidential candidate, runs away from the campaign, planning to hide until after the election. Unfortunately, she greatly underestimates her value to the campaign or to her mother's enemies as leverage to hurt her mother's campaign. Nolan is a D.C. fixer, and very good at his job. He has a few hang ups and will not fly, so when he is hired to find the missing Lola, he starts driving across the country to find her. He is totally unprepared for the visceral attraction he feels for her at first sight. Before long, he is forced to use all of his skills to keep Lola safe, while still fighting his attraction to her. This is a very fast paced book that romantic suspense fans will love. While it is classified as erotic suspense, and does contain explicit sex, many romance/romantic suspense novels contain just as much explicit sex without the erotic label, however the sex in this book is naughty and definitely not vanilla. Book two does contain more explicitness than book one did. This is book two of a two part series and ends with a HEA. If you haven't already read book one, I would strongly encourage you to read it before this book

This is book two of Nolan and Lola's story so make sure you read The Southern Gentlemen: Protective Instincts first. Book 2 starts where we left off in book 1 with Nolan and Lola traveling back to the Campaign trail. Book 1 ended with a cliffhanger and I knew things were about to blow up. I can honestly say that this book was just as exciting as book 1. There is still a plot against Lola to cause a scandal for her moms campaign. Nolan is still the hot, sexy, intimidating man protecting her while making his goal to own her. He's 38, divorced and has already lived enough to know that Lola is the one. He just needs to convince her. She's young and never been in a Dominant/Submissive relationship. It's scary to her and she doesn't know if it's for her. I love the fact that Lola isn't just bending to Nolan's rules. She fights him the whole way with what I believe to be a realistic view of a 23 year old being introduced to the D/S lifestyle for the first time. I never really understood in other books when the heroine would blindly accept the D/S relationship. How can you not question a brand new way of life so blindly just because the man is good looking. I also loved the fact that the author showed that Nolan makes mistakes and owns up to them. That's one of my issues with the D/S lifestyle. It comes across to me that the woman needs to be brought to heel while the mans word is obeyed with out question whether he's right or wrong. I don't think I'll ever be a fan of the D/S lifestyle and usually stay away from books that have it but I can appreciate it in a story like this one for the reasons I just mentioned. I truly enjoyed this book series and highly recommend it! I look forward to what Sweden Reese publishes next! ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
