When your back is against the wall, can you change the person life's experiences have molded you to be?
Fiona Pierce is many things to many people. Dutiful daughter to her loving parents, fiercely loyal friend to her very tolerant bestie, half-assed employee to her laundry list of bosses, and dedicated fashion goddess and spreader of good cheer to the world at large. But Fiona is hiding something behind her irresistible smile – something she's determined to keep to herself.
Mark Beckett doesn't do complicated. Saddled with lingering baggage from his childhood, Mark sails through life one girl at a time – with frequent gym breaks in between. He likes his life just how it is and doesn't see any need to change his work hard/play hard attitude.
When an unexpected blast from the past threatens to turn his family's life upside down, Mark finds help in the unlikeliest of places – specifically the pint-sized princess who has a knack for pushing his buttons.
Can you overcome your fears and embrace the happiness you might just deserve?
And, perhaps more importantly, can you really fall in love with someone who is so damn insufferable?

About the Author
Like the characters in my books, North Carolina is where I call home these days, and I love love love it here! You should totally move here.
When I'm not writing, I'm hanging out with my kids or arguing with my husband about which of us is funnier. It’s usually a tie. Reading is, of course, a huge hobby of mine, but I'm also getting into kayaking these days and, in case you were wondering, those two activities cannot be combined. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and my extended family, sharing some laughs and a glass of wine. I should note at this point that wine goes very well with both reading and kayaking so next time I talk about my interests maybe I should include some kind of Venn diagram or something. So that's about it. Now you know all about me.
P.S. I really am a spy but they told me not to tell anyone so, you know, can you keep it on the down low? Awesome!

Reviewed by Divine Zape for Readers' Favorite Sylvie Stewart’s The Spark is another entry in the Carolina Connections series, a book I judged by its cover and one that turned out to be a perfect read in the romance category, a love story that is character-driven and so tightly written that readers will be blown away by the intense and powerful emotions it evokes. Meet the outgoing, bubbly, and fashion aficionado, Fiona Pierce, a woman who is loyal to her best friend and who can be described as a model daughter. But behind the smiles and the cheers she fills the world with, there is a dark secret she wants no one in the world to know. And then she meets Mark Beckett, a guy who only gets into women for a one-night stand and who makes it clear to any woman that he doesn’t get past the one-night stand. The only trouble is, he could break his own rule with Fiona. Two powerful and complex characters drawn towards each other, secrets explored, and a path towards personal growth are the elements woven into the plot of The Spark. I love it when characters are well-developed in a romance piece and Sylvie Stewart has done a great job in this area. Her characters are interesting and flawed — yes, one wants to see a character who needs to grow throughout the story — and it was entertaining to see key characters struggle with their emotions, their family issues, and their past. The writing was gorgeous and seductive. I can’t complete this review without noting that the cover was excellently done. It caught my attention immediately. The Spark is a perfect read for those who love romance with a strong plot and complex characters.
Very good I enjoyed it.
Title: The Spark Author: Sylvie Stewart Genre: NA Contemporary Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 384 Rating: 5 Heat: 5 Thoughts:I'm not sure where to start! This was such a fun read, I giggled almost all the way through this book with a few aww moments thrown in with some tears. Now that I've had the pleasure of reading this one I will definitely have to read the first book! Fiona is a trip, I'm pretty sure I fell in love with her and now have a book hangover. And Mark, swoon, he will most definitely steal your heart and make your panties wet but I'm calling dibs!! This is a must read then reread and then maybe just one more time type of story. The characters are so adorable you can't help but smile at their craziness. I wish they were real so we could hang out all the time, I'm sure my face would hurt from all the laughing but it would so totally be worth it. Grab yourself a copy and enjoy the ride, you won't be disappointed! Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
