In her new book, The Spirit-Led Heart: Living a Life of Love and Faith Without Borders, Suzanne Eller invites us into a new relationship with Holy Spirit. Through the pages of this book, Eller shares personal stories of how she's learned to relate to Holy Spirit. She invites us to understand His role in our lives. With an immense amount of scripture, Eller shows just how Holy Spirit moved through the lives of the disciples and the words in the Bible. And she shows us how to embrace his role. Eller takes the mystery out of who Holy Spirit is and reminds us that having a Spirit-led heart looks like listening more. Trusting that voice that nudges us in a new direction.  The Spirit-Led Heart is an invitation into scripture. To see what it says to us about Holy Spirit and how he interacts with us. How Holy Spirit interacts with the rest of the Trinity.  My Thoughts on The Spirit-Led Heart I think this book is an important one for our generation. We need to learn to trust Holy Spirit as He guides our lives. Without His help, life can feel a lot more complicated. Eller reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not some mysterious spirit we can never get to know. Rather, because He is inside of us, we can truly trust He is fighting in us and for us and through us. We are never alone because He is always there for us. He guides our steps and empowers us to utilize the gifts of the Spirit that are inside of us. When we embrace that, we can live a life that is filled with a love and faith without borders. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is my own, honest opinion.

Wow. I don't say this about a lot of non-fiction books but this book was outstanding.  This book touched a deep part of my heart that has been asleep for a long time. This book challenged me to live the kind of life I know Jesus has called me to live.  I loved the author's vulnerability in sharing parts of her life and how she has had to quiet herself before the Lord.  If you are looking for a wake up call in your spirit I highly recommend this book.  A copy of this book was given to me by the publisher. All opinions are my own.

In trying to draw closer in relationship to my Savior, I have been trying to learn ways to understand the Holy Spirit and His role in our lives a little better. This book has been very helpful and instructive in that pursuit. The author leads us step by step through the basics and we learn how to recognize the Holy Spirit’s intervention in our lives, expect it, be confident in it, be guided by it and be sure that it is legitimate. This book provides a well thought out and outlined study by which we can come to a better understanding of and relationship with the Holy Spirit. I found the study guide at the end of the book especially helpful to review and process what I had just read. I would recommend this book for individual or group study. I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for a review.

What a comfort to know we are NEVER alone! We are empowered with the Holy Spirit to guide and counsel us no matter what storms may come our way. With Suzie's signature warmth, authenticity and gift of sharing truth in understandable ways, the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives becomes a fresh, exciting call to seek Him and allow our hearts to become Spirit-led.

The Spirit-Led Heart by Suzie Eller is a refreshing, authentic exploration of the Holy Spirit and how He equips and fills Christian. Non-divisive in her approach, Suzie weaves story, scripture, and encouragement into the pages of this book and opens the aperture to provide readers with a clearer understanding of the Helper. With an easy-to-follow study guide at the end of the book, The Spirit-Led Heart would be a great Bible study for women’s groups and is a must read for those who would like to more fully understand the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Loved this book and will recommend it to friends!

Although aware of the importance of the Holy Spirit as part of the Trinity, I've tread lightly when discussing His role. He seems far more mysterious than the Father or the Son. I get those roles. So when Suzanne Eller mentioned she'd be penning a book about living a life led by the Spirit, I felt compelled to review it. If for nothing more than my education. I'm not disappointed. By studying the book of Acts, Suzie developed a deeper understanding of what it means to be led by the Spirit. She deftly divulges that understanding to her readers. The beauty of this book is in its easy-to-understand revelation of the power of the Holy Spirit working in our hearts. Each chapter illustrates, through story and biblical application, how a woman led by the Spirit is equipped to "live a life of love and faith without borders." Life application is found throughout the pages of this book, but especially so at each chapter end, where Suzie offers a specific Scripture, a promise offered by the Spirit, an invitation, and a prayer. Led by the Spirit, each of us can be empowered to live out the life God intends. Let Suzanne Eller in "The Spirit-Led Heart" help you do just that. Come to find out, He's not so mysterious after all!

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” ~Luke 24:32 Have you ever had one of those moments? Where you’re going about your ordinary business, trying to make sense of things, when all of a sudden it feels as though your heart is on fire? When the hope wells up and overflows? When emotions are high and everything feels possible? When you know—just know—that God is near? This verse from Luke kept running through my mind as I read Suzanne Eller’s new book, The Spirit-Led Heart. I have always connected closely with the idea of the Holy Spirit. Maybe it’s because I go to a Pentecostal-ish church and we operate by the Spirit, seeking after Him, not making excessive plans for the service but instead trying to connect and follow the Spirit. Maybe it goes back to the early, exciting days of my faith, when God opened my eyes to see Him in new ways, and I devoured books like Catherine Marshall’s The Helper. Whatever the reason, the minute I heard the name of Suzie Eller’s new book, I knew that it would be one that would be important to me. I jumped at the chance to read this book, and even so, it exceeded my expectations. It’s one thing for someone to inspire you, and this author is one person I watch and learn from. She’s the real deal, and I’ve learned to trust her guidance because I’ve seen how she truly lives her faith and always points people back to Him. She tries to never get in the way but to do her part and then get out of the way and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. But it goes deeper than that. This book woke up my spirit again. It reminded me why I love my God like I do. It reminded me of how the Spirit enlightens and informs and encourages and empowers. And it made me realize how much I was shortchanging myself by not embracing the Spirit in every step that I take. It showed me that I may be walking that road to Emmaus, just as the disciples in the book of Luke, and I may be talking about God, but so often I find myself oblivious to Jesus’ presence and forget that He is RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW. Here’s the promise: that God is near. And WITH GOD, all things are possible. The gift of the Spirit isn’t something for a select few—it’s a treasure that we can open again and again, every single day. It will shape every moment and change the way we live.

I just love Suzie Eller ! I first heard about her thru Proverbs 31 Ministries on facebook then I started hearing her on the local Christian radio station. She has the sweetest voice and shares her heart and her love for Jesus. I love the Spirit-Led Heart and recommend it highly. In this book Suzie talks about how the Holy Spirit is our helper as we try to share Jesus' love to others in our path. She talks about the confidence that the Holy Spirit can give us to do this. She does all of these things in an easy to understand way and like she is sitting talking to you, like a close friend. Please get this book. You will not regret it!

There are some books I skim and there are others I savor. Suzie Eller’s books are definitely in the savor category. Her authenticity keeps me wanting to read. Her spiritual insight makes me glad I did. This book is helping me experience the realities of inviting the Holy Spirit to take the lead. [Spoiler alert: confidence and empowerment are the tip of the iceberg when comes to having a Spirit-led heart. Who doesn’t need more of that?!] Thank you, Suzie. Once again, your words are a blessing.

“The Spirit-Led Heart” is a sweet gift, which expounds upon the Gift of the Holy Spirit to believers. If you want an adventure of faith, love, and joy in the Spirit, come aboard with Suzanne Eller as she presents the way to be a “world-changing” heart. Sharing her own life experiences, Suzie teaches that the Holy Spirit is constantly with us and leads, counsels us and even fights for us; thus, the book is practical in its applications. Suzie tackles biblical subjects that are sometimes controversial in the church—for one, the command to “be filled with the Spirit.” She points out that in order to “unwrap” the Gifts of the Holy Spirit for our use (1 Corinthian 12:8-11), we must “know” them. She teaches that as we approach the Word with a fresh appetite to know the Truth, we will receive the Truth. I loved all aspects of this teaching book. As a bonus, and for group study, there are discussion questions in the back. I can see "The Spirit-Led Heart: Living a Life of Love of Faith Without Borders" becoming a best seller in all Christian venues.

In the Christian walk, it can be hard to know where the Spirit is leading. Sometimes God seems silent. Sometimes the enemy clouds our judgement and makes it hard for us to know what our next move should be. Sometimes doubt keeps us stuck and we feel like we can't move forward. Suzanne Eller's book "The Spirit-Led Heart" reminds us that while faith isn't a doubt-free walk, it's a dependent walk, and we can be released from fear and uncertainty when we embrace the help of the Spirit, especially in the hard places of life. If you're looking to go deeper in you faith journey, this book is for you!

I am a 52-year-old woman who has grown up in the church, and I am just understanding the truth of the power of the Holy Spirit. Suzie Eller’s, “Spirit-Led Heart” took the blinders off my heart. I am curious and grasping ahold of the deeper truths of the Helper and his purpose in my life. I feel liberated. Suzie’s words and wisdom and truth are beautiful and powerful. I will forever be grateful for Suzie’s yes to write her passion. Her obedience has changed my life. She is helping other women, such as myself, to walk more boldly because of the Spirit that dwells within us. Do not wait to purchase "The Spirit-Led Heart." Make sure to have a pencil, pen, or highlighter in hand. There are so many nuggets of the love of God woven throughout the entire book. I had a hard time putting the book down.

Do you ever question what you should say or do in a situation? Do you want to be led by the Spirit, but wonder if it’s even possible? If that’s you, I’m thrilled to be able to recommend A Spirit-Led Heart to you. This book showed me how to replace my uncertainty with the confidence that comes from knowing the power of the Holy Spirit is already inside me. "A Spirit-led, empowered heart believes that his power is greater than a right-now situation and right-now feelings." Suzie Eller. Recently, I encountered a situation with a friend that made me want to step in and fix everything that was wrong for her. This situation actually occurred while I was reading A Spirit-Led Heart. Rather than fretting for days over having the “right” words to say, I used what I was learning from Suzie to guide my approach. The results were peace and confidence in the Lord like I had never experienced before. Suzie showed me that God has only asked me to love people and pray for them; the rest is up to Him. When I embraced this mentality, I was empowered to pray for my friend, but release her situation to God. For the first time, I felt like I was partnering with God and He was the leader, rather than me operating in my own strength and wearing myself out. If you’ve never read a book by Suzie Eller before, you are in for a treat. Suzie’s books are like sitting down to coffee with a friend. She has an unconditional love for all people that will both encourage and empower you. So, go ahead, get this book and prepare for a whole lot of goodness!

For all of the many wonderful Christian books there are on the market today, few tackle the topic of the Holy Spirit -- and even fewer do it in a way that is conversational, full of warmth, and totally applicable to everyday life. Until now. Suzie Eller's book reminds us that we don't have to "go it alone" in this life - we have a Helper who is there to guide and help us every step of the way and an Advocate who fights our battles with and for us. Through sharing both insights from Scripture as well as personal stories, Suzie demonstrates how the Holy Spirit enlivens, inspires, and activates our everyday faith and partners with us to live courageously. This book is SUCH an incredible gift! I can't tell you how many times I've tried to do things in my own strength or I've run out far ahead of Him in my own determination to live my life MY way, and it never turns out well. Ultimately, I always end up quitting because I'm scared or I turn back because I feel ill-equipped or I drag my feet because I lose my inspiration or confidence. When it came right down to it, I felt alone. While I know what the Bible says about Christians receiving the Holy Spirit, I honestly didn't know what this meant on a practical, day-to-day level, and I figured the Holy Spirit was a topic that would one day be taught in church - but it really hasn't been...or at least not in a way that I understood on a gut level where I could live it out. Of course I want to live as a spirit-led woman, but I didn't really know what that meant or how to go about it until I read this heart-changing book. Suzie's book has really deepened my faith walk, because I now understand on a heart level who the Holy Spirit is and how a partnership helps me to push past fear, do things in His strength, and stay inspired along the way. The book begins with "A Spirit-Let Heart Manifesto" which is worth the price of the book alone, and each chapter contains a quality of a spirit-led heart (e.g. empowered, bold, advocated and comforted), and ends with a brief section of Scripture followed by "Your Spirit-Led Promise", "Your Spirit-Led Invitation", and "Prayer." What I love about how the book is set up is that in addition to the beautiful picture Suzie paints with her words and stories, the book is solidly based on Scripture and she invites you to begin living as a spirit-led child of Christ right away, so you are learning and doing from the very beginning! My favorite books combine teaching and inspiration with "doing", and this book fits right into that genre. I have been a fan of each of Suzie's books (The Mended Heart is an all-time favorite I've just about worn out), and her latest book is an incredible addition to any Christian library. Highly recommend! I am grateful to have received a copy of "The Spirit-Led Heart" Living a Life of Love and Faith without Borders" from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

The Spirit of God is often a mysterious topic in Christian circles, but God never intended for the Person of the Holy Spirit to be a mystery to any of us! He sent Him as a Helper to be a part of every moment of our everyday existence. Suzanne Eller’s book brings the reality and the certainty of the Spirit into the pages of her new written work. The Comforter feels exactly that—comfortable—as Suzie draws us close to examine what it means to truly live a life that is led by the Spirit of God. Suzie defines the impact that living a spirit-led life makes on not only the daughter of God in her own personal journey, but upon others as a result as well.

The Spirit-Led Heart is a book on who the Holy Spirit is and what he does in us. It is balanced and Bible-saturated. Suzie teaches through the book of Acts about the Spirit's power in the first century church for early believers and his power for us 21st century believers today. Each chapter highlights one of the Holy Spirit's attributes and what he accomplishes in us. Suzie's stories throughout the book make it a easy, rather than academic, read but still thoroughly solid and grounded in scripture. In fact, the study guide in the back would make it an excellent book club choice OR Bible study. The Spirit-Led Heart beautifully illustrates one of my favorite A.W. Tozer quotes: "The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people."

Suzie Eller is my favorite Christian author. Her newest book, “The Spirit-Led Heart Living a Life of Love and Faith Without Borders.” is another spiritual, faith building adventure. Suzie first lived the adventure, she knows the truth, as it ignited freedom full of power, promise and deepened relationship. These are available to you too. Jesus sent us a helper that we can draw upon whenever we have a need. The Holy Spirit is within us, yet we ignore His presence as much as we ignore the gifts he offers us. Living a Spirit-Led life is living in a partnership where love and faith take on new meaning, a power that we thought only happened in the Bible and a love that stretches and equips us to reach for what we thought was impossible. As I continue to grow in faith and with the Holy Spirit, my confidence is bolder, my faith broader, and there is a freedom in discovering where this journey will take me next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to transform their relationship with our God to becoming all we can be as followers and modern-day disciples of Jesus. It will inspire you to embrace who you are and who you were created to be. This book challenges me to live each day with new awareness.

If you ever feel overwhelmed by life and in need of help, this book will encourage and reassure you. The Spirit-Led Heart reminds us that we are never alone; we always have a Helper. This book gave me a fresh glimpse of what God can do in our lives through the Holy Spirit. Rather than running ourselves into the ground, we can come to the Holy Spirit for renewed strength, faith, hope, and guidance to live the life He wants for us: a life of love and faith without borders. Suzanne Eller is one of my favorite authors. Reading her book, you feel like you’re sitting at her kitchen table because her tone is warm and conversational. Easy to read, this book has a great balance of real-life stories, Bible teaching, and encouraging inspiration and wisdom for our lives. Some of Suzie's stories are poignant, and I felt a heart connection with her when I read the book. What I loved best about this book was that each chapter ends with a Scripture verse, a Spirit-Led promise we can hold on to, a Spirit-Led invitation to live it out, and a prayer to ask the Holy Spirit for help. These really helped me internalize this message of hope and help. If you come from a church background where the Holy Spirit is not emphasized, and you don’t know how comfortable you feel about the Holy Spirit, rest assured that this book will not “freak you out.” It is an encouraging look at the promise of the Holy Spirit and how He works in our lives.

“God loves you. Jesus rescued you. The Holy Spirit helps you.” These words appear in a graphic in the study guide section of The Spirit Led Heart. Simple, obvious words as I read them. God loves me. Jesus rescued me. The Holy Spirit helps me.....but how? Suzie Eller breaks down this last part in ways that are clear, tangible and doable in our everyday life. Suzie uses personal experiences, sometimes very hard experiences and shows how the Holy Spirit is with her every day to help her live her faith and he is there to help us too. Having just finished this book I know it will be life changing in my faith walk as I not only lean into Jesus when times are hard but wake up daily with the Holy Spirit to guide my words, my steps and day, as I step out in the gifts he has given me. It will be life changing for you too!
