I love spy novels...and this was a true story that read like one of the best. Often true stories read like documentaries but this read like a great novel, fascinating and suspenseful. Got into the detail of spying; methods, practices, connections to Gorbachev/Thatcher, Gorbachev/Reagan and even Aldrich Ames. Very well done. I just couriered it to a friend.

Here’s proof Spy vs Spy vs Spy was not just a Mad Magazine cartoon. Ben MacIntyre is a master of the genre.
