In the ninth installment of the Prophet series, an old enemy, seemingly defeated, escapes capture and returns. While the remaining voice-activated bombs keep Aleta Praetzel silent and unable to quickly warn anyone of danger. A small band of men attempt to kidnap Stanley Praetzel. He escapes that danger with the help of his wife and his horse, but he soon discovers that he is facing a far more relentless and devastating an enemy. This time there is no escape. He is forced to choose between two unacceptable alternatives.
