Professor Skye McAlister never dreamed archaeology could be so dangerous. But discovering a mysterious artifact in the Scottish Highlands has somehow landed her in more trouble than she can handle. It seems a secret society has taken an interest in her work of deciphering the lost language of the ancient Pict civilization, and it may just cost Skye her life. When a hunky FBI agent shows up, things get even more intense as he enlists the help of Skye and her team to crack the case that has stumped the Bureau's finest for decades. The investigation takes them on a chase through Medieval European history, and may help Skye find answers to even deeper questions about who she really is.
About the Author
K. L. Nelson met his wife while attending school in Rexburg, Idaho. The pair settled in rural St. Anthony to raise their family. They enjoy attending concerts and recitals, vacationing and participating in the local Pioneer Days parade. Growing up in Gold Rush country, K. L. developed a fascination with history. He loved exploring the hills near his home to search for evidence of abandoned mining operations. Then as a missionary in the British Isles, he got his first taste of the Medieval world. Poking around ancient ruins whenever he could, he grew to love those traditional people as he became more interested in their heritage. History was his natural course of study at university back in the U.S., but he never planned to make it a career. He studied history simply because he loved it. K. L.'s inspiration for writing and for life is his beloved Tammy. Together they are the parents of six children, around whom their life revolves. Commitment to family gives each of them purpose and direction, and the courage to face whatever comes their way.
