This story told by Homer is faithfully reproduced in such a manner as to furnish a guide to the real beauty of the poet's work, and we have pleasure in calling attention to this book as useful for interested in Greek mythology. The story in each case is substantially reproduced, much of what is found being a free translation of the Greek itself.

This volume is intended for young people, and therefore while the author has produced the Homeric narratives with simplicity and an accurate study of the general features, he has apparently not deemed it necessary to follow all the peculiarities of Homer's language.
