A simple Irishman named Kit follows his dream and goes west to mine for gold and strike it rich. After gold mining fails, he comes to manage a copper and ore mine in the back canyons beyond Grants Pass, Oregon. There Kit falls into a comfortable life where hard work and toil are balanced by love of family and the surrounding land.
Life is good, until one fateful day when Kit meets Cid Diggery, an eerie man. The encounter sets off a chain of events, leading Kit on a journey that changes his life forever. The path leads him to meet a shaman and plunges him into a mystical world where he will have the fight of his life and ultimately learn about "sideways thinking," after which he will never be the same.
