Rachel is ready to give up on love it seems like she is always the bridesmaid never the chance to be the bride. Then one night on girl’s night out she meets a rodeo cowboy Brook who is hot but still has a very sweet nature. They are instantly attracted to each other They get engaged but then Brooks is killed right in front of Rachel. Rachel has a son and names him Brook Jr. Fifteen years later Rachel moves to a new city . She is now a middle school counselor. She has made her life: her son, family, and friends. Then tragedy strikes Brook Jr and he is fighting to stay alive which all know is a parents worst nightmare. But her family and friends are there to make sure Rachel doesn’t give up. Then there is also Marcus …. This was a truly awesome story. Not your normal romance. I laughed at times and cried a lot for Rachel and all life was throwing at her. But she still keeps her faith and with the help of all who love her Rachel keeps going on including keeping her faith. The only thing I even had a little problem with is at times the story was a little slow.but so much is going on most of the time it wasn’t a big thing. As the plot was great and the story inspiring and well written. I loved the characters especially Rachel and all the twists and turns her life had and she still made it. I highly recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Bring out the tissues, ladies, because you are going to need them. This novel is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. You will root for Rachel and hope that her dreams come true. The characters are so real and relatable. I really enjoyed the way Ross wrote this novel. It was the perfect plot line. The dialogues were good and not too revealing. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat, cheering Rachel on, and biting your nails to find out what her future holds. The descriptions were spot on and very inviting. I could almost picture everything in my head as I was reading it. I would definitely read it again and again. A very good cover, too.
Every once in a while a book comes along that takes the reader on an emotional journey, for me that book is The Strength of Love. In The Strength of Love, author G.L. Ross weaves a poignant and inspirational tale of love, loss, and second chances. Set in Texas, the reader is easily drawn into the story of twenty-six year old middle school counselor Rachel Thompson. Rachel is always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. With all of her friends falling in love, getting married, and having babies, Rachel dreams of having her own happily ever after. When Rachel is given a chance at true love, her life becomes picture perfect, that is until the eve of her wedding when tragedy strikes, and her life is suddenly turned upside down. As Rachel struggles with her grief and trying to move forward, she embarks on an emotional journey to start her life anew, one filled with trials and tribulations that will test her strength and faith, and unexpectedly give her a second chance at love and happiness. Oh my goodness, The Strength of Love is a compelling and beautifully written story that simply tugged at my heartstrings and stirred my soul. I was easily drawn into Rachel's emotional journey as she learned to deal with the trials and tribulations in her life with faith, hope, strength, and the wonderful support of her family and friends. This is a realistic story that anyone can relate to, it will make you sit up and ponder what you would do if you were Rachel's shoes. As the reader follows Rachel on her journey, they will experience the full gamut of emotions, you can't help but cheer her on as she grieves, heals, and receives a second chance at love and happiness. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how lovely the book cover is, and how symbolic the rose petals and piece of wood perfectly describes Rachel's mixture of delicacy and strength. The Strength of Love is an amazing and timeless story of love that will resonate with you for a very long time. 4 Stars A truly inspirational read and so unlike your modern-day fairy tale romances. I have personally never read anything by this author and was intrigued after reading the blurb about the book. This book is about real life relationships and the trials and tribulations that most people actually go through. This book has its warm and fuzzy moments that will make you swoon but it will also have you laughing, crying and every motion in between. Rachel is faced with many difficult situations and decisions throughout the book but the way she handles theses situations will give you hope. Life is not always the fairy tale we all dream of but we must have faith in the path that has been chosen for us. Just because the road is sometimes a little rocky doesn't mean that life and love still can't be something beautiful in the end. I received an eARC of this book via the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.
As a blogger I read a lot of books, but I can honestly say that I have never read a more compelling and beautiful story than this one. It really made me not only stop and think about all the trials and tribulations that the main character was going through, but it made me feel and I mean really feel!! I felt every emotion reading this book, all the good, all the bad, and all the holy cow what just happened? The author told a story that will make you really think about how much we have to depend on faith to get us through all the trials of life. I don’t usually cry in books, but this book had me in tears from about 45% on. Some were tears of joy, some were tears of sorrow, but all in all this book is just one of those books that I believe everyone should read. It will break your heart over and over and then it will put the pieces back together again. This is one book you don’t want to miss! To say it is fantastic is a gross understatement!! This book deserves way more than just 5 stars!!! I was lucky enough to beta read this book. Review by Tabitha
