The academic schools of Chinese philosophy in pre-Qin period used to be studied in parallel. This method is advantageous for comparison and understanding of each school. But it cannot give insights to the shared background and intertwined sometimes supportive developments between the schools. In fact, the academic schools formed a structure and worked as a whole set of thinking tools, which reacted to all aspects of social issues and challenges in the long Chinese history. This is the reason that all Chinese philosophical thoughts on society and nature developed in later period can be more or less traced back to these schools and their original thoughts. This book brought forward a systematic explanation of Chinese philosophy and revealed the structure of Chinese philosophy.
