About the Author

I’m an avid reader and writer of spanking romance novels, usually involving a cowboy, always involving a firm hand and a scorched ass. If you were to peek inside my Kindle, you’d find plenty of spanking romances as well as books by John Steinbeck, Margaret Atwood, Gillian Flynn, and other authors from disparate genres. What all of my favorite stories share are complex characters who draw me into their struggles and successes. I’m drawn to reality TV for the same reason. I also enjoy horseback riding, short hikes, and long lectures. I live on the west coast of the U.S. with my musician husband, a sulcata tortoise, and two antisocial rabbits.

If you’d like to talk books with me or find out which of my pets wins in a race against the others, please connect with me via email, Facebook, and/or Twitter. Thanks for reading!

This is the first book in the Lone Star Love series. We learn about Nalin and Carter. Nalin feels she has nothing but her fight for the women’s vote. She cannot carry a baby to term and feels less than a woman. Carter loves her and wants her, no matter if she gives him children. Of course, Carter is a man of his time and he spanks Nalin when she misbehaves. I really loved this book and I feel sad that Nalin and Carter’s love story ends so soon. I give this 5 stars.

A great love story full of happiness, tragedy and domestic discipline. In addition, the suffrage movement is central to the story. The heroine, Nalin, is an intelligent, educated women driven to participate in the fight for women's rights. Her husband, Carter is a conservative, man of his time who believes he should lead his family. He also deeply loves his smart wife. He seems to only want her to participate in the suffrage movement in a small way that will not affect his family. However, as two intelligent people they both grow as they are exposed to the movement up close. Each must deal with their changing opinions. Nalin also must come to terms with the her need to participate in the suffrage movement while acknowledging her need to submit to her husband. The story also includes a plot line about Nalin's inability to carry a baby to term. There is laughter, banter and deep love. A really wonderful read!

This is an entertaining short story written as historical fiction, with a few spankings woven into the plot. It is a compelling suffragette story bringing in factual characters such as Susan B. Anthony. The political and social aspects of the right to vote movement are well presented from both male and female points of view. The spankings are of the DD variety and not overly harsh. No erotic spankings and limited sex scenes. Enjoy the story, it is well worth the read.
