Overview

He swore to never come back. She promised to hold him to his word.

After years of living the life his oppressive parents wanted for him, Cameron Blake is ready to pursue his dreams of being a reclusive artist. Pleasing the faithful baseball fans of the New York Emperors has been rewarding, but now all he wants is peace and quiet. That and an irreversible vasectomy. Because there's no way he's passing on the heavy burden of the Blake genes to an innocent child. But Cameron never gets what he wants. Ever.

The last thing Adrianna Arenas needs is for her ex to slide back into her life. Not when she can throw a nine-year-old curve ball that will change his game. Not when his father could tear her world apart with a simple phone call. Especially not when, despite everything that stands between them, her insides go wild when Cameron walks into a room. But Adri never gets to keep things the way she needs them. Ever.

After ten years, fate brings Cameron face-to-face with Adrianna, the woman he never forgot, and the little girl that ties them forever.

It all goes back to the secrets, jealousy, and heartache that destroyed the magical summer when they loved each other madly, broke each other's hearts, and changed each other's lives.

Read this second chance romance and find out if Adri and Cam's story goes on the win column for love.

The Summer I Loved You is a standalone, full-length romance with an HEA. While it's part of a series, each book is a different couple and can be read on it's own.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review. Let me start by saying I like the idea of this book. I always enjoy a good secret baby. Here’s my issue. I needed some sort of build up. We start the story automatically with Cam finding out. I feel like it would’ve been better if he came back to town they saw each other maybe started building a relationship or even just a friendship and then he found out later on. And where was all his anger? You had a child that you didn’t know about for nine years and you’re not even mad at her! You want to automatically get into a relationship. I know I should be glad she got the benefit of the doubt but I needed a little more drama. Now, let’s talk about this big reason Adrianna is afraid of Cam’s dad. I feel like every time I read a book that has this “big secret” that they won’t reveal it because they think their lover will leave them for it and then it isn’t as bad as it seems. I felt the same way about this one. Overall, I did enjoy it but just expected a little more drama.

This is my 1st read and review for this author and wow what an amazing story it’s a second chance romance and it’s about Cameron and Adrianna. Cameron and Adrianna had a whirlwind romance one summer until they had an argument and Cameron left a broken hearted Adrianna he also left her a gift. 10 years later Cameron comes back to town and they happen to bump into each other, the attraction is still there between them and they reconnect., but what happens when Cameron’s horrible parents start interfering?. Wow what a story just make sure you have a box of tissues next to you because your going to need them, this is a very emotional story I cried like a baby and it broke my heart but I absolutely loved this story and I highly recommend this book.

Oh I love secret babies and second chance for love romances. Just like this one. Cameron never expected to ever see Adrianna again until his nine year old daughter came to find him. Ten years of secrets and lies that separated these two lovers, reunited through the love of their daughter despite the greedy machinations of Cameron's father. Wonderful story, I loved reading it! Don't you just love the title? So romantic. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This second chance romance was written so well, I had trouble putting it down. From the way Can met Bron, to the intense passion filled arguments Adrianna and Cameron can't help but get into, it was all page turning. Throw in the mystery in there and the extremely unexpected bomb dropped in there, it made for a really great read! And the intimate scenes were very steamy! They were teenage sweethearts for a summer that had so much promise and one misunderstanding turned happiness into so much hurt and anger. Cameron took his father up on his offer and left town leaving Adrianna to pick up the pieces. Nine years later he is at an art gallery when a precocious little girl criticizes his work. Little does he know that she would change his life and give him back everything he thought he lost. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to end. First story I've read by the author but won't be the last. This was full of great characters in a story of second chance love. Secrets, lies and a bit of mystery were all well told along with a bit of sizzling sex. I have to say that I think my favourite character was the young sassy Bron.

Wonderful second-chance romance. Young love can be so foolish which lead to a separation for Adrianna and Cam. As Cam works to change is career away from baseball and to his true passion, art, he doesn’t expect to cross paths with such a captivating and precocious fan in Bronwyn. As Cam is reunited with his first and only love, he finds out he is a father, something he never expected to be based on the crappy example that his father provided. The connection between Cam and Bron is fabulous. As these three work to build a life together, they have to weather some crazy drama from Cam’s parents. I loved how Adrianna and Cam struggled to be together. You could feel the love they still had for each other but their trust had to be rebuilt. The road to finding happiness together again wasn’t easy which added a true depth to this journey. The building of a family made this a pleasure to read. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I really loved this one.Miss Lora did one amazing job when she brought this characters to life. Adri and Cam were one hell of a couple.Sexy, loving and angsty, sooo much angsty. I loved the plot of this book. There is something about second chance romance that always keeps me on the edge, and this book really did that to me.I liked the chemistry between Cam and Adri, and I really fell in love with their daughter Bron. This book would't be the same without her. So much emotions was in this book,so many feelings and yet it was not to much dramatic and I liked that really much.I liked how quickly Cam accepted his role as Bron's father. And for the love of God,Miss Lora I need more Chase.I really need more of his character. Overall, this was really nice book.I enjoyed it and read it in one day.If you are looking for nice, sexy and angsty summer read then I absolutely recommend this book to you.

I just love a good second chance romance story. So when I saw the sign up for ‘The Summer I Loved You’ it immediately sparked my interest. I read the book description and I just knew I wanted to read this book. So obviously I was super excited when I got an email approving me to read an ARC. In ‘The Summer I Loved You’ we meet Cameron Blake and Adrianna Arenas. Cameron and Adrianna where madly in love with each other almost ten years ago. But a fight, made worse by their stubbornness and Cam’s oppressive parents made them lose contact. But they never truly forgot one another. Especially not Adrianna who has a nine year old daughter who has a resemblance to Cam and his brother and sister. So when Cameron and Adrianna meet almost ten years later they are surprised to find there’s still a lot of chemistry and passion between them. ‘The Summer I Loved You’ was from the very beginning a book I really enjoyed. It starts with a little throwback to ten years ago, the last summer Cameron and Adrianna spend together. Although you don’t know the complete story then, you can easily feel the love and chemistry between both characters and it made me want to keep on reading. Both main characters Cameron and Adrianna are fun to get to know. They are both very passionate people and this makes for some intense moments. They both have strong characters that clash at times, and they are so crazy for one another that they make it harder for themselves than seems necessary. What I definitely loved about this book is the way it’s so clear that these two are meant to be together. The only real question was if they where able to forget the past and fight the people who wanted to do them harm. This was my first J.L. Lora novel and I must say I really loved her writing. From the very beginning I was hooked to the pages, and I just wanted to know how the story would go. There is lots of romance, and some very sexy scenes but there is also suspense and some nail-biting moments. There’s definitely enough going on in this book. I did find myself a little bit disappointed about the ending. It all went so fast and I still felt like there were some lose ends. But since this book is the first in a series, I hope to get more answers in the next books. And boy do I hope the next book is about Cam’s brother or sister. It definitely felt like they had a story to tell as well.

Past secrets and manipulations drive Lora's characters on a journey of healing. Cameron Blake is a highly successful man despite having a terrible father figure. Adrianna Arenas had Cameron for the love of her life but when she told him to go away. HE did and did not look back except to make every relationship he had uncommitted. Lost Love, Found Love, HEA read. "A copy of this book was provided by the caffeinated services via netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

They should have been together, but allowed others to tear them apart. When a chance presents itself, can they right the wrongs of the past so they'll have a chance at a future? To do so each will have to face painful truths, survive heartbreaking secrets and get through the ultimate betrayal. The Summer I Loved You gives young love a new beginning. Will they stay the course? Or will pride get in the way? Cam and Adri were too young to know better, now they are too old to forget, but can they forgive? Lora has a stranglehold on the heart that will break, inspire and entrance, even as it leaves you craving more. What an introduction to a talented author. (4.5 stars)
