You can't grasp hold of your dreams if you don't let go of your fears...

Ella Burke has lost her belief - in herself, and in her future. It's the holiday season in the suburbs along Philadelphia's Main Line. We meet Ella, a professional counselor in her thirties, wrapping up her day at work. Following Ella on her last minute Christmas errands we learn that she is living a life that is not her true aspiration. Rather than living authentically, she views the decisions her younger self made for her as her life sentence.

Early on in the story Ella finds herself summoned into a different dimension. A place where she discovers a world similar to what she has known, but altogether new. Her time as a guest in this place opens her up to truth and healing, yet exposes her weaknesses. Here, Ella discovers magical components, including that there is something very mysterious about many of the people she encounters.

Will these encounters bring down the walls that have kept her from true love?

Summoned at a point in her life when she believed it was too late to change things, she will have this notion challenged in ways she could never have imagined.

The book is wonderful. After what appeared to be a twenty page slow start in a women’s novel The Summoned Guest takes off into a “realm” that can be likened to a new dimension beyond what Swift could imagine in Gulliver’s Travels. The many steps to completion and the imagination of the author are well worth the trip.
