What was going on?

The mist that I had just walked through was so thick that I could not see my hand in front of me. As I breathed, my lungs filled with the moist heavy air. I could feel the heaviness in my diaphragm. This was beginning to freak me out. I went from a sparkling sunny award winning day to an oppressive gray green mist. If I could not feel the crunch of the sand beneath my feet, Im sure I would have gone into a complete panic attack.

I trudged through what seemed like an eternity but Im sure if I checked my watch (if I was even wearing one), it would have been only a few minutes.

My perseverance paid off and I stepped out of the mist -- back into a beautiful day -- at the point where the ocean and sand vie in eternal conflict.

About 10 yards in front of me, I glimpsed a lone surf fisherman. I thought that I needed to talk to him -- see what gear hes using, what if anything hes caught.

My wife Annette and I had spoken many times about spending time on the beach, surf fishing and just being together. And maybe we will, if shell even talk to me after the way I act.

I know!

Ill try and get some good hints from this guy that Im approaching and then shock Annette with my new found knowledge and all will be right again.

As I approached the fisherman, I started practicing in my mind how I would start up the conversation with him and how I would pick his brain.

I was about 3 feet from him when he turned away from the ocean towards me. He looked directly in my eyes. I was startled by this presumptuous act on his part, but a bigger shock was coming my way.

He said, "Joe, Ive been waiting for you."
Whoa!! What was this? He knew my name? He was waiting for me?
I turned to go back where I came from.
"Please stay, we need to talk", he said.

The Surfmaster is very thought provoking and the message is so simple, but powerful. You'd think we could figure it out for ourselves but so many of us get lost - whether it's in our professinal life or personal life. This book helps one get focused again on a very important message that we need to internalize, act on and live by!

The lessons taught by the Surfmaster are simple but true. Follow along with Everyman Joe and you too will have your life changed. Fantastic book! It is truely a book for all ages and for all of life's transitions. It starts as a mystery and builds like a musical crescendo to reveal the secrets of life and how we are to live it. A great book to share in discussions with the family.

As I glanced at the first few pages of this book, I found that I couldn't put it down. The Surfmaster brought tears to my eyes various times throghout the book. I can honestly say that it touched my heart and soul. The Surfmaster had myself thinking of various things that have happened in my life as well. Why did my Dad die so young...why should I go on...why do things always seem to happen to us? The surfmaster had me believing all over again. This story will stay with me always. I know when I doubt again, I will just go back to your book for guidance and know that it will get me back on the right path again. I can't wait to share this book with my own children. The Surfmaster is truly a gift of love and hope. Thanks Joe!

The answer is The Surfmaster by Joe Colantuoni. Savor the sensory qualities of the beach: the tactilities of water, wind, sand, the sights, sounds, smells, and even the taste of ice cream. However, while your physical being may be tempted to rest, your spiritual self will experience quite a challenging workout. We should all encounter The Surfmaster for ourselves and the universe.
