Overview

**A standalone romance inspired by the classic film, Roman Holiday.**

I never believed in fairy-tales.

Never held out for Prince Charming.

Growing up poor in small-town California as the oldest of six siblings, I knew I would never ride off into the sunset with anyone. That was even more apparent when a senseless tragedy took the lives of my parents, forcing me to become the sole guardian of our dysfunctional household at the mere age of twenty-three.

Then a fateful encounter literally brought Prince Charming to my doorstep.

At first I thought Viktor was just your average businessman passing through, albeit obscenely handsome, six-foot-five, blue-eyed, and mysteriously rich.

But soon I discovered the truth behind Viktor's façade.

Beneath his quiet, enigmatic gaze and cocky charm, is a man who is running away from who he really is. A role he'd rather not fulfill.

He is Viktor of House Nordin, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Sweden.

Yet uncovering Viktor's secret was only the first step.

I didn't expect to fall in love with him.

I didn't expect to have my whole life turned upside down.

When you're from two different worlds, can your hearts meet somewhere in the middle?

Or do happily-ever-afters only exist in fairy-tales?

This is where as a reader/reviewer I should write something amazing and profound about this book. I've been thinking about this review even before I finished the book. How would I put into work how breathtaking this book was??? Words are not coming to me. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!! So....I'm going to take a quote from the many many many highlights I made.... "I could kiss you for a thousand days and it still wouldn't be enough" he says. "I could gaze at you for a million days and it wouldn't be enough. I could touch you, taste you, be so deep inside you that you're fused to my skin, do this forever and it still wouldn't be enough. Forever with you isn't enough." See what I'm talking about???? This book was absolutely stunning from start to finish. READ IT NOW!!! Reviewed by: Heather S.

All Romance lovers know and love some version of a movie, or fairy tale, that features a Prince and a commoner. I loved The Swedish Prince, a story based on a beloved and well-known movie, Roman Holiday, but with a twist; this story stars a Crown Prince instead of a Princess. And luckily for us there’s so much more to this story than the movie version which was very chaste since it was filmed in 1953. With dual POV, and filled with amazing secondary characters, this story was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat and loving the HEA ending. And as with the Royal family motto, this story is: “Always more, never less.” Prince Viktor of Sweden had always known he was the spare in the royal “Heir and Spare” hierarchy. His older brother, Alexander, was the Crown Prince and Viktor was happy living his semi-carefree life, without the pressure of the position weighing heavily on his shoulders. But when Alex dies, leaving him as the heir to the throne, his life takes an unexpected twist. Crown Prince Viktor of House Nordin is now his official title. It’s been a month since his death and Viktor still can’t come to terms with the obligation, even with weekly therapy, he’s not happy knowing he must assume a position he’d never wanted or been prepared to take. When the Royal physician recommends he take some time off to relieve some of the stress, as part of his therapy to come to terms with his new position, his parents agree. “You’ve gone your whole life knowing you’d probably never sit on the throne, never having to worry about anything beyond just showing up for photos. Now you’ve had to re-route. Your freedom has been stripped. That’s why you’ve been having a nervous breakdown.” He’s given a passport with a fake name, Johan Andersson, strong medication with a warning to not drink after taking it, and he heads off on a cross country adventure to America. Just an anonymous Swede on vacation. “I pick up the passport, slowly flipping through the pages. The pages are blank and waiting. A clean slate.” Maggie McPherson’s had to forget her dream of graduating from NYU, and become a journalist; she had to return home immediately after her world was turned upside down overnight. Only twenty-one she became the legal guardian of her 5 siblings and has been stuck in her hometown of Tehachapi, California, working as a housekeeper in a La Quinta Inn for the last year. When she’d left to go to school she thought she’d left for good. Funny how life doesn’t go as planned. She doesn’t have the luxury of running away and escaping for a day, much less a month, this is her new reality. “I want that. I want that freedom to drop everything and just run assay. Run away like a coward but at least I would feel the wind in my face and hope under my wings.. At least for a little while I could live under the pretence that anything can happen until the guilt and shame and responsibility would drag me back home.” When these two cross paths, in his hotel room while he’s buck naked, they never imagined where life would lead them. After Maggie later comes to his rescues, the story takes off on a mad dash, dragging us on a passionate and whirlwind adventure that leads all the way to Sweden. And what a trip it is! Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
