About the Author

Trisha Porretti, RN, BSN, CDE, is a humorist. She was a young single mother of three when she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This changed the direction of her life. She transitioned from bartending to nursing. She is a Registered Nurse, a Certified Diabetes Educator, an Insulin Pump Trainer, a Laughter Leader, a former Key Opinion Leader for Johnson & Johnson's Internal Speakers Bureau and a Certified Yoga Teacher.
She has educated people of all ages who are challenged by diabetes. She began publicly speaking and writing about her own life experiences in 2003. She focuses on the positive diabetes outcomes that are achievable with acceptance, faith and humor. She is considered an expert in her field. As a motivational speaker at conferences and events throughout the United States, she has encouraged and inspired audiences to let laughter lower their blood sugar!
