Nothing about the cover photo or jacket description leads one to believe that this book is about a sexual fetish, let alone one that could involve a safe word. That was a jarring realization a few pages in since I have not read the author's previous book.. I did not care for the way Amanda was introduced to his fetish. It bordered on abuse IMO. The writing style is light and breezy despite the subject matter.  I was also frustrated that the narrative POV switched back and forth at times with no notice. Made the story difficult to follow and I had to reread several times.

For me, the male character was egotistical, arrogant, and controlling. On the other hand, the female character was limp, easily suade, and submissive. I didn't see the characters as being equal irn bringing the best qualities out in each other. Some people may like overbearing males and sexual manipulation in a relationship. If you are one, then this book is for you. I kept thinking how a smart and savvy businesswoman with an education and one who comes from a sophisticated and educated family could be so lacking in her romantic rrlationship with the main male character.

I cannot share anything too positive with this story. The woman was too wimpy and I found the whole premise too odd for a woman with no backbone.

Didn't even get half way and a cute romance beginning turned into a justification and tutorial on Mild S&M relationships with no other plot. Her first novel was fantastic. Too bad she just didn't write a non-fiction novel on S & M culture.

I loved this authors first book so I was excited to read this one but I just didn't like it. I didnt really like either character and the story line was boring. The male character was too cocky and the female was too wimpy for my liking. I just found myself trying to get through it since I paid $12 for it. Hopefully her next will be better but I'll wait for it to go on sale.

I generally liked the book, but there was a bit too much explicit sex for me. I liked the story and am glad they got back together!!!!! I like how the author focused on twomcouples who were friends in both of her books. Still on the fence about reading anything else she comes out with....great story, but a few less sex scenes would be better. Great character and plot development though!!!!!! I NEVER saw them getting back together!!!!!!! And I was hoping he had gotten rid of his nasty desires, but then those last pages.....

I loved this book. I read Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich first and that one is a sequel to this one. I loved both books!!! Chase and Mandy had such a great romance the kind that dreams are made of. They belonged together from the very beginning. Chase is a very popular baseball player and Mandy is a restaurant owner. Mandy was hard to win over but once Chase did there was no going back until a scandal tears them apart. This is a book I would definitely recommend. It really is a fairy tale romance.

After reading Big Girl Panties, I could NOT wait until this book about Chase and Amanda came out!!! I loved the character development and story behind the meeting. This story, as was the same with the first, takes some unexpected, exciting twists that keeps you reading. Once I started reading, I didn't want to put the book down. Definitely a steamy read!

Amanda has made her business a success and she is proud of what she has done. She did it on her own. She is not one to be turned by a pretty head or believe what men tell her. She has figured out all men have a flaw that only shows when your in deep. When Chase a professional baseball player walks in she notice him but she won't let it go any further. She figures with a guy like him he is bound to have huge flaws. Chase knows at once when he sees Amanda and sees how spunky she is he has to get to know her better. He slowly wears her down and makes her see he isn't out to hurt her. They begin to date and Amanda soon sees his spanking is something she is enjoys as much as he does. Their bedroom fun is brought to the public light and Amanda thinks it is more than she can take. She runs and only sees when it's to late what she had. Amanda is not one to rush into thins. She may run away but she doesn't run into any relationship. She thinks she has to figure everything out first. Wen she realizes she has a naughty side she thinks there is something wrong with her. She is very spunky and I liked her a lot. Chase I liked from the start. he is persistent, sexy, caring and very naughty as well. I kept thinking at times if she doesn't want him I do. I read and enjoyed the first book in this series. I was eager to hear Amanda and Chase's story. I knew parts of it from the first one but getting to rad about them falling in love was a great joy. They have their problems and it makes them more real. I like how Amanda is always trying to upset Chase so he will do what she likes without asking him to. She doesn't realize how much she means to him. He does so much to show her and she doesn't listen most of the time and worries a lot. I hated how she did run from him and wouldn't stand by hs side but I understand why she did. If you like your characters a little off the normal path give these two a ty. It is full of laughs and steamy moments.

I am a HUGE fan of BBW books and I never think there are enough of them. But in the past, when I read a Stephanie Evanovich book, I have always been left with a disappointed feeling afterwards. Now before you all jump on me about it, I think it is less about her writing and more about the way it made me feel. So with that being said, I was a little apprehensive about reading The Sweet Spot, But I pushed that aside and dived right in. The story goes, Amanda Cole is a restaurateur, who struggles with the idea that someone could love her for her and after coming up with a very flawed love formula in college, she has used that as a plan for her life. But when famous baseball player Chase Walker arrives on the scene, then proceeds to stalk her until she goes on a date with, Amanda really doesn’t know what to make of him and she uses every opportunity and excuse to doubt them both. Chase Walker is a very determined man and he is determined that he wants Amanda in his life for keeps! But when something goes horribly wrong and Amanda flees, will he continue to fight for her or is he done with always being the one to make things work… I realized a very huge fact while reading this book! Stephanie Evanovich is an author that I undervalued! Her writing is amazingly real and down to earth and I honestly hadn’t given her chance, I slipped into a world of Happily Ever After’s without realizing that her books give that, with a healthy dose of realism in it and that is such a refreshing change! I simply loved the characters in this book and I fully related to the way that Amanda doubts herself and her worth! I love Chase’s determination and I honestly really love the scene when her parents invite Chase to share dessert with them. The plot of the book is captivating and by the end of the book I was wanting more and I am planning on re-reading all of the other books that I have dismissed in the past. The writing really grips you and it honestly puts you into the book, like it is all unfolding before your eyes! So by the end of The Sweet Spot I was captivated and annoyed at myself that I didn’t give this author a chance, it really opened my eyes about being dismissive. So I urge you all to go buy The Sweet Spot and enjoy every moment of this book, the same way I did! This is why I give this book 10 out of 10!!

A romantic comedy with a naughty tone Note: This review contains NO spoilers The Sweet Spot is a fun and funny romance that also had it's fair share of drama to make this a delightful read. However, after reading the synopsis, I don't think the cover has any connection to the story at all...misleading! It didn't matter anyways, I was already intrigued and drawn in by the synopsis. At first glance, The Sweet Spot seems to be a prequel Big Girl Panties...as in the story behind Amanda and Chase's relationship. Well then, good thing I read this first before Big Girl Panties...I'll already know their history...with all their secrets and flaws. Stephanie Evanovich has created well developed characters with strong and independent personalities. I totally enjoyed Chase and Amanda's playful antics and flirty banter. I also loved that Stephanie's female lead character isn't sexy thin. Yup, romance can come in all shapes and sizes. Totally love her for that! Then there is the development of the setting in which the story takes place...well intertwined and well described with their lives as a restaurant entrepreneur and a pro-baseball player. Their story got me laughing, tearing up, and holding my breath from beginning to end. But...it wasn't all "sugar and spice" with this love story...there's also the "naughty" side. Ever since the popularity of the Fifty Shades books, BDSM is a topic that is trending in many books. The Sweet Spot is no different. Although, on the lighter side of it, Chase and Amanda's relationship is filled with love, laughs, and then some. The Sweet Spot is a romantic comedy that has its fair share of passion, mischief, and scandal that makes this a comical yet captivating read. But, I do have to say that the topic involving BDSM (although it isn't as hard core as other books) is not for everyone. Read this with an open mind...not judging here.

This the first novel that I've read by Stephanie Evanovich. My daughter owned the book, but I couldn't wait for her to give it to me,so I could read it. I luckily was able purchase one of the last hardcovers with the original cover photography. (Love this cover more than the new one) The story takes place in and around NJ and NY. Being a full-fledged Jersey Girl; born and raised and still living here, made me smile. The story is about an restauranteur Amanda Cole and Pro- Athlete, "golden boy" Chase Walker. Amanda loved her life and was quite settled. Then enter Chase who turned her world upside-down. She loved being with him. He was perfect...the total package. Perhaps, he was too perfect. Only... Chase's perfection held a secret. A secret that in the beginning Amanda questioned and struggled to live with. Yet, their relationship and love grew strong, their loyalty knew no-bounds. Then, the secret that Chase had and Amanda came to terms with took an unwanted turn and exposed each of them. Something Chase had to man-up to and one that Amanda needed to run from. Stephanie's writing and this story had me laughing out loud, sighing deeply, swooning a bit and shedding several tears. If you haven't read this novel, I hope you will. It's now one of my favorites.

It could have been a cute love story, but it was like some read 50 shades a decided they needed to throw that it to try and sell more books! It did not add to the story line or make it more exciting, just made the whole story very tacky and tasteless! Very disappointed ... first and last time buying this author.

I was duped by the description of this book. I thought it was going to be a corny romance - WRONG! Neither character was likeable and then it's revealed the male protagonist is abusive and a pervert. Take this book off the shelf and burn it!

I loved reading how Chase and Amanda met! After reading Big Girl Panties just because I loved the name, I fell in love with the characters so I always have looked forward to learning more about them. The Sweet Spot really shows you that real love takes acceptance, forgiveness, patience, passion and understanding that in the end, relationships really are not a one-size-fits-all thing. Poor Amanda. Talk about bad days at the beginning of the book! But it was fun following her up and down that crazy rollercoaster we all seem to want to go through to fall in love. That Chase Walker ..slurp...drool... that is one sexy man....and I don't usually go for the sports types. Part of me loves the possessive, dominant side of him, where he gets all protective of her and part of me wanted to yell, "Back OFF! She can handle it!" But once he had set his sights on Amanda and knew she was what he wanted, oh to be wanted like that! Amanda spends the majority of the book, in search of the real Chase, in search of his 'fatal flaw' as she calls it and in doing so discovers things about herself she did not know. Funny how that works. But this book is fun and sexy and exciting from beginning to end. If you love Chick Lit, you'll adore this! A definite page turner! Rating: 5 Stars - A Must Read Heat: 3/5 - Blush Worthy I received this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. No further compensation was received.

I rarely find a book I don't enjoy but this is one of them. It went downhill and I badically skimmed the last few chapters! I felt like the author was trying to compete with Fifty Shades of Grey. Not good.

The changing points of view were confusing, interrupted the flow. Amanda was just a weak willed person, there was a disconnect between the two, just never seemed to believe they cared about each other. And spanking, just spanking is not a big deal, no big bad Dom her. Don't waste your time, did not even turn out to be a sweet story. Skipped along, not even bothering to read everything.
