The Sweetest Chase by Sharla Lovelace

Photographer Quinn Parker is getting married in a month, and she’s almost happy about it. Even though her mother is planning the whole wedding. Even though she’s secretly had the hots for Simon Chase forever. But he’s her best friend’s brother and her coworker…off-limits even if she were single. So she’s marrying the man who should be her perfect match—and that’s that.

Simon Chase’s life revolves around his family’s storm-chasing business. The meteorologist of the bunch, he’d rather be out in the weather than reporting it—especially if Quinn Parker is along to photograph the run. He’s been hiding his crush on her for a long time, and it’s only intensified. But she’s marrying someone else—and that’s that.

Or is it? When a Chase family wedding sets the stage for body temperatures to rise and the pressure of Quinn’s impending wedding to build, a new reality breaks. Quinn and Simon discover their unrequited affections have been mutual all along. When the gathering storm of their attraction finally reaches its peak, will it leave their lives in shambles? Or will they find shelter in each other?

The internet network hears of the storm chasing Chase family and wanted to make a reality show about the family. Originally the contract was for the pilot and three episodes had already expanded to ten episodes. Eli was the oldest and Hannah usually did the filming but Hannah was helping Zach’s fiance Maddi as they were to be married in two days. So Quinn had stepped in to help. Zach was the driver with his animal like instincts, Simon was the teams weather guru.Quinn was Hannah’s photography assistant.Eli was all about family safety and rules as he had seen his dad die because of a tornado. Zach had at the back of his mind the tornado of seven years ago that had ripped through their apartment building and buried Maddie in a bunch of rubble on the day they were suppose to be married Quinn was to be married in a month but Simon -secretly from Quinn at least- had strong feelings for Quinn. Phoebe was Quinn’s younger sister and had a baby shower that day and Quinn was late but she did make it to her sisters shower even though her mother was disapproving of her as usual. The Chase brothers were Quinn’s brother’s best friend. Also Quinn cares for Simon more than just a friend. I liked the storm chasing aspects of this story, But I didn’t like Quinn. She had no backbone to stand up for herself She cheats on her fiance with Simon they after just treats Simon like nothing happened and did not break her engagement to Eric but what made me even madder she messed around with Simon again then again treated him like crap and more than once. Simon deserves better than that. Quinn deserves everything she gets as she should have had a backbone right in the beginning for what she really wanted and who she really cared for. And not keep hurting Simon I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Sigh! I adored this book and am left wondering why I don't read more contemporary romances just like this. When I read the above summary of this book I was instantly intrigued and knew that I wanted to read it. A romance featuring individuals who are storm chasers for a living and have their own reality show? That is definitely not something I had ever read before so how could I possibly resist? I couldn't and right now I can tell you that I'm really glad that I followed my instincts with this book. The book itself was a fast read that I found myself immersed in. I can already tell you that this is a book that I will reread because I just enjoyed it so much. Don't you love when that happens? When you find a book that just fits your reading mood so perfectly and in a way that makes you want to experience it over and over again. This book was like that for me which made me love it even more. One of the things that I loved so much about this book was the two main characters and the chemistry between them. If you read the above summary then you know that the author based this book on a very difficult to make work premise with one of the main characters already being in a committed relationship. I figured that this was either going to work for me or it wasn't and fortunately it did. I have such a weakness for romances where the main characters struggle with their feelings for one another and don't just instantly fall madly in love. It all feels so much more realistic to me when the relationship takes time to develop and grow. Quinn has had a crush on Simon for a long time but never believed that a relationship with him was possible so she moved on with her life and is engaged to be married to man that she genuinely cares about. Does she actually love her fiancee? I would say no after reading this one but the important part of the book is that she doesn't know that. Simon has also always had feelings for Quinn but never was willing to act on them until now. All of a sudden both Simon and Quinn are realizing the feelings that they have for one another are more serious than either thought and this brings about some serious struggles for them both. I loved it! I loved watching them try to work out their feelings for one another, and I especially loved the anticipation that built for me as the reader hoping for their happy ever after. I wanted them to realize their feelings for one another before it was too late! I was just rooting for them in general and I loved every minute of it. Overall, I just really loved this book from beginning to end. My one complaint with this book was that I just wasn't ready to see it end. Ha! I loved all of the characters in this book so much that I wanted more. More Simon and Quinn and more of all of those secondary characters that I was enjoying as well. The Chase brothers are all so hot!!! I'm super pumped because there will be more books based on the other brothers that I can look forward to. Actually this is the second book in this series so I will be going back to the first book as soon as possible. Also, I NEED more books like this in my life so if you have any recommendations please share. I can easily recommend this one to other fellow romance readers. Recommended!! Bottom Line: A romance that just swept me away. I want more! Disclosure: I received a copy of this book thanks to the publisher as part of a Tasty Book Tour.

WOW. I loved this book. Stunning visuals. Quinn is engaged to be married, but she could do without the fanfare of a wedding. Her mom has taken over the prep. Her fiance, while a perfectly likable guy, seems set to change Quinn's ways, turning her into a "proper wife" instead of the wild storm-chaser she has always been. Enter the best friend, Simon, the perfect match for the girl, but he's never had the guts to tell her how he feels. With her wedding looming, he has to decide if he's going to just be her friend or if he's going to try to win her over. I was a little apprehensive about reading this story at first. To be honest, I was worried Quinn was going to cheat on her fiance and I was going to not have any respect for her. But the author did a good job at building the history and setting everything up that I was worrying over nothing. (almost, not really a spoiler) she does kiss the guy, but it doesn't go farther than that. So that was a plus for me. The action in the story sweeps you up, just like the tornadoes they are chasing. I found the story hard to put down and was eager to return to it. The layers to the characters and the visuals put you right in the vans with the crew. Pulse pounding action. Simon is just the yummiest of yums. I received a copy of this story via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Captivating. Intense. I loved this book! This was my first time reading a book by Ms. Lovelace and I will definitely be reading more. I loved her writing style. I felt like I was right there with Quinn and Simon. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The novel is well written and fast paced with some witty banter and intense moments. The characters are all enjoyable and I was easily able to relate to Quinn and Simon, both. I look forward to reading more books in this series and more about the Chase brothers. Highly recommend! ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Family, friendship and frustration abound in this story of friends flirting with the idea of becoming more even though one of them will soon be married. Quinn and Simon have known each other for years, have worked side by side chasing tornadoes on reality TV and have a great friendship even though they have both had a crush on one another for an awfully long time. One night changes things but neither is willing to derail Quinn’s upcoming wedding. Whether or not they have their happily ever after will depend on soul searching, communication and a few very tense moments. I liked Simon and his family. I liked the dynamics between Quinn and her sister Phoebe. I thought Quinn’s mother Adelaide was a right piece of work and Eric, the fiancé, though a nice guy was better suited to Adelaide than to Quinn. A number of interesting side characters made an appearance and I would really like to read the stories of some of them when they come out. Stacey, Simon’s plus-one for the wedding, is one person I want to know more about…and of course all the rest of the Chase family members that don’t have their partners will hopefully have their stories told, too. This was a complex, well written story with real problems for the main characters to deal with. I enjoyed it and want to thank NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the copy of this book to read and review.

Overall I really enjoyed this one but there were a couple of things that were a bit off putting. So the good points - love the writing style of this author and the intriguing storm chasing aspect of the series. I thought Simon was fantastic. He's had feelings for Quinn for a long time but he always thought she wanted more than he could give her. I really like the entire Chase family and how they are with each other. The not so good points - Quinn was a difficult character to warm up to. I really just wanted her to stand up for herself against her mother and I wanted her to do the right thing with Eric. I didn't get either of those things. Again though I did enjoy the story just be prepared to be frustrated with Quinn! I would recommend this one with that caveat.

Storm a brewing . . . most certainly . . . The Chase family seems like a family I can get behind. There were a real family that had issues with each other and still could stand behind the family. Gran was something else. The shelter had a host of characters to make things interesting. The interactions between Simon and Quinn was a bit no no and then oh sweet, but then Quinn needed to gain perspective on her life before she could make a commitment to Simon. **This ARC was provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.** More @
