This is a companion story to The Sweetest Thing where you meet the estranged brother Charlie. Charlie is a medical resident on Orthopedics when he meets Ramona a musician, neither one has time for a committed relationship, but the heart grows fonder. I could not put this book down, was so happy how the story brought you back to River Bend, Montana. This is a book that I could not put down. It is a stand alone but even better if you read the Sweetest Thing first.

A beautiful street musician performs for tips outside the hospital where Charlie works. Who is she and why is he so drawn to her? He has to find out. Ramona is in New York City trying to make it as an actress. Her home in Spain is in desperate need of repair and her parents are barely able to pay the bills, but they wanted her to live her dream of being an actress. She works multiple jobs saving every penny she earns sending it back home to help out, while waiting for her big break to come and get on a Broadway play. Charlie is in his last year as an intern as an orthopedic surgeon. He doesn't need a complication in his life right now and definitely doesn't need to be romantically involved with anyone. But, he can't take his eyes off this beautiful lady. He has to know her. He is also preoccupied with the news of his biological mother wanting to meet him. How can they work this out when neither really has time for each other? Plus, Ramona plans on moving back to Spain soon. This is a wonderful story. But, I would recommend reading The Sweetest Thing by Lilian Darcy before reading this book in order to really know what's going on in this story. I really enjoyed learning more about Charlie and Ramona.
