The Synchronicity War Part 1 by Dietmar Arthur Wehr

Exploration frigates of the United Earth Space Force have stumbled across a shockingly xenophobic alien race, that now seems bent on exterminating the Human Race. As the Space Force's undergunned and outnumbered ships suffer one defeat after another, Commander Victor Shiloh experiences unpredictable precognitive visions that help him slow down the relentless alien advance. Hailed as a tactical genius, Shiloh is moved up in rank and authority. With the fate of Humanity apparently now resting on his shoulders, can Shiloh unravel the mystery of his visions before Humanity is overwhelmed?

Throughly enjoyed this book.

I dont mind a book series that consists of individual stories tied together to tell a larger story. Or even a story that is broken up into multiple parts like this one. What i have a problem with is a book that wont stand on its own, but ends in a cliffhanger. This one just stopped flat, as the characters were heading into what could easily have been made into the climactic battle for this book. I'll give it 4 stars since it was a well-written and enjoyable read. But i definitely dont plan to buy another book to see how this one should have ended.

Interstellar xploration vessels are suddenly and unexpectedly attacked and humanity finds itself at war with an enigmatic enemy that seems to want to engage in an obsessively zealous crusade to attack and defeat human ships and settlements everywhere. Humans have attained the technology needed to travel between stars and have established settlements on other worlds. This appears to be the first contact with another intelligent race, one that, unfortunately has no interest in peaceful coexistence. There is little or no description of who or what this alien species is other than that their weapons and military technology is nearly identical to humans. The focus of the story is on the tactics and the evolving strategies in a series of battles as the enemy moves ever closer to worlds inhabited by humans. Unfortunately there is almost no description of these human world or the people living within them. The main characters lack depth or personality whether they are real humans or AIs. Despite these shortcomings, the story is very compelling, enough so that when I completed the first book, I was compelled to immediately buy and start reading the second.

Would be five stars if it was longer. I found my self slowing down my reading just to make the book last longer.

Needs better proof read. Overall a good read at a nice pace. Where is the follow up?

A really good read. Enough techno babble to keep the tech nerds happy with plenty of character development for the space opera fans. A hint, but only a hint, of romance ... or at least the hope of a romance in the future.

Disjointed and at times aimless . If the author wants to know how to write sci-fi combat he needs to read David webers honorvese.
