Overview

“With Time's Pendulum, Barnett has shown us that there is a mystery and a great story to be found in the very time that flows past us and which rules our lives. There is no need for wild speculation. Time's Pendulum is history. In both senses of an ambiguous phrase, it is the history of our time."-New Scientist
“The story of time and its machines is long, but indisputably interesting. [Barnett's book ]. . . is entertaining and worth a few hours' reading time."-The San Diego Union-Tribune

About the Author

I love writing authentic, passionate and emotional love stories. I began my first novel, a historical, when I was sixteen, but life derailed me a bit when I started suffering with Ankylosing Spondylitis, so I didn’t complete a novel until after I was thirty when I put it on my to do before I’m forty list. Now I love getting caught up in the lives and traumas of my characters, and I’m so thrilled to be giving my characters life in others’ imaginations.

Charlotte made a bad decision with the best of intentions, and she's ready to take her life back.. at least part of it. Harry doesn't want a wife, so what Charlotte offers is appealing. Of course, it isn't as easy as it all sounds. The author paints such a vivid picture of her characters and those around them, that their world comes to life clearly in my mind. There is so much pain in both characters' backgrounds, it can be an emotional read at times, but there is hope too. It's been so long since I read, The Desperate Love of a Lord, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy this series. The Tainted Love of a Captain by Jane Lark was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
