About the Author

Joannie Kay knows about DD because she has a quick temper and can be very sassy. She also disobeys her health rules and earns a sore bottom for that occasionally. Her Lar would say, "she is a redhead, and dealing with a redhead is a pain at times, but she cooks good, so I'll keep her."

I love writing and it is my dream career. I write in all genres, but westerns are my very favorite—plenty of romance, naughty ladies, and stern handome men.,

Joannie Kay has always been one of my favorite authors, and this is why...she writes a great story!! The characters are always fun and naughty, with equally fun but stern, authoritative men! The sparks really fly in this one and I liked the parental component (the fathers made me chuckle!) Another great one!!

I really enjoyed this story. I loved both Siv and Ulf. I enjoyed the spanking scenes but I also enjoyed when each of them could admit their fault. I am excited for more books in the series and hopefully we see more of Ulf and Siv. Joannie Kay's books always have a great story line with complex characters. I would highly recommend this book!

I really liked this book, rather intense discipline and she did not seem to learn by the first infraction, nor the second. The book kept my interest and I could not put it down after staring it. It held my interest from beginning to end. I look forward to the next one in this series. I just wish these books could be longer.

K. Tyler: This is a fast past historical book that will keep you turning the pages. Two children Siv and Ulf are betrothed and do not wish to be. Siv runs and finds herself unable to keep her temper in check and it lands her right in the hands of the one she thought to have run from. This is a well written story guaranteed to keep your interest from start to finish.

Joannie Kay always writes a great story and this book is no exception.  Ulf has come home after 2 years of Viking and finds out that his father has promised him to his former enemy’s youngest daughter.  He doesn’t want to get married so he leaves in the night.  He stops at a tavern for food and drink and he meets Siv there. She is the barmaid, but she really is the daughter that Ulf is to marry.  He likes her spunk and she likes him, so he asks her to marry him and she agrees.  On their trip to his castle, they are overtaken by bandits and Siv disobeys him and jumps to help.  He punishes her pretty harshly for it.  Once they get to the castle there are new problems to be solved and usually that means that Siv is going over Ulf’s knee.  But, there is a HEA and it is a pretty enjoyable one.  The punishments in this story are pretty harsh.  But, they are deserved for the most part.  I highly recommend this book!  I give it 5 stars!

Ulf and Siv are both determined to choose their own destiny and aren't going to let their fathers choose the person they're going to marry.  But what if taking their own destinies into their own hands leads them straight into the path fate meant for them all along?  This is a fun DD love story with plenty of spanking but also a true growing of feelings between the characters.  Glad to see this is the start of a series.

The is a re-release of a very entertaining book set in the days when Vikings ruled. Siv, the beautiful, headstrong daughter of Erik of Valgaard, runs away to take a job in a tavern instead of being forced into marrying Mangor’s son. Ulv, a fierce warrior refuses to accept any wench his father decides he should wed. When Siv serves him in the tavern and then is manhandled by the owner, he comes to her rescue. When she dumps a tankard of ale over his head, he decides the feisty little beauty is the only woman he will wed. Siv quickly learns that her new husband is not one to be provoked, finding herself over his knee several times getting her first lessons in obedience. Stubborn as she is, she runs away only to be captured and reminded how she is expected to behave as the lady of his keep. Siv proves to be a good mistress of his castle, quickly dealing with lazy workers, earning the respect of most when she stands up for the elderly housekeeper despite the woman’s hatred of the upstart that is taking over her house. Astrid, another servant, and Siv get into more than one scuffle as each are both fighting against their husbands frequent discipline while craving their love. I enjoyed the historical tone of the book. It is well written and includes both discipline and love , the characters well defined.

Ulf and Siv are the typical young people who, when they find out that they are betrothed to someone, automatically rebel at whoever the choice is. In this case, they are so determined not to marry the people their parents have chosen, they don't realize karma is coming their way. Although I thought Ulf was a little heavy handed and was constantly spanking Siv, I have to admit she did bring on most of the punishment through her actions. I read this when it was first published as a single book. Now, I'm glad the story will continue. Great descriptions and true sounding characters. I'm up for round 2!

Sometimes Fathers Do Know What's Best For Their Children! Magus and Eric had betrothed their children Uhf and Siv. Neither Uhf nor Siv are in agreement. Uhf argues with Magus and decides to return to his own estate. Stopping at a tavern and having an encounter with a spirited tavern wench who dumps a tankard of ale over his head, which results in him spanking her. He then must rescue her from another man who won't leave her alone. Angered with his father and liking the spirit of the wench, he proposes marriage. She knows her landlord is cruel and refusing her father's wishes she agrees.  Siv learns quickly that her new husband will spank her for every little thing and she is regretting her decision to marry him. When Magus and Eric show up at Uhf's estate and see that he and Siv are married, they laugh with joy but their children are not pleased. Siv is feisty and it seems all her actions are upsetting to Uhf, but he has a short temper and is heavy handed.  The story is heavy on spankings and sex is very mild.
