George Kohler, born in Detroit Michigan, spent the better part of his childhood living and playing in the shadow of the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho. Growing up in the outdoors, he learned to hunt and fish early on, his childhood playgrounds old ghost towns and mines. After serving as a medic in the Navy for four years, he returned to his family, now living in Michigan and began to put his stories to paper.
Now a successful columnist, The Texan is Kohler's first novel, and it is apparent immediately that he is a master storyteller. These days he spends his time writing, taking time out to illuminate the joys of hunting and fishing to two small boys. Kohler lives with his wife and family in the Ann Arbor area. He is working on his next novel, "Liberators" due out in Spring 2004.
