Kim Chambers lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where many of her stories take place. She has a son and daughter, two dogs and a cat. She writes in the genres of science fiction, youth, horror, street lit and poetry. She is a member of several online role-playing groups and hosts several blogs. The Throwaway Year is a year of discovery. I highly recommend this book. The Throwaway Year really spoke to me. Have you ever been hurt so deeply that you wished you could run away from your life? I have and that is what happens to our heroine, Hayden Michaels. She decides to throwaway a year of her life. She wants to ignore everything that hurts her and start over after her live in love crushes her heart and spirit. Hayden doesn't think she is worthy or beautiful. During the course of throwaway year, Hayden finds out who she really is and what she is truly made of. And, oh yes, Hayden does find love. Brian is battling his own demons. Brian and Hayden help each other discover what is truly special about the other. With that being said, I have to say the love story is secondary to what she learns about herself. . I tip my hat to Ms. Pepper Pace.

It's empowering and easy to relate to. Whether or not you have the struggles that the characters experience you can definitely empathize. It was like Waiting to Exhale combined with Something New and then some. Love me some Pepper Pace!

This was my first book by Pepper Pace, and well worth it. It does have language, but I didn't feel like I was being cussed at (it wasn't over the top...quite sporadic, actually). I liked Brian and Hayden. I liked how their interacts progressed over time rather than an instant thing. The affirmations were thought provoking. Everything that happened seemed realistic. I didn't want to put the book down. I rooting for Hayden to stick with everything and I know how that ONE DAY can have an adverse affect on everything that you've tried so hard to build. Great story. Worth the read!
