Five female backpackers face certain execution after they unknowingly carry heroin into Singapore in the souvenirs of their Tissue Trail trek from Nepal. With time running out their situation seems hopeless, until a medical researcher takes video footage of a salt caravan on the Nepal/Tibet border and accidentally uncovers evidence that the women may be pawns in a politically explosive global conspiracy. But there is still a glimmer of hope if he can survive the numerous attempts to stop him from proving their innocence. The story opens with minutes to go until the girl's execution.

About the Author

Garth Gunston was born in Derbyshire in the north of England where the Peak District gave him the taste for wild open country. Despite excelling at English, he pursued his interest in the effect of drugs on human tissue, which lead him to read pharmacology as part of a pharmacy degree. During his time at college he took a year out as President of the Student Union, an experience of influencing events, which guided him towards a commercial career rather than research or academia. It also resulted in him meeting his lifetime partner and wife Jacky. A career in medical communications followed working for the American agency Omnicom BBDO.This international role enabled him to indulge his remote country passion on all parts of the globe.

Garth was involved with words from a young age, writing stories in exercise books as a teenager, working for the student newspaper and subsequently producing articles in The Pharmaceutical Journal. He finally combined his enjoyment of word-smithing and love for open country in his first book The Tissue Trail - an absorbing thriller which one professional critic described as "flowing with tension and intrigue...a complex but well thought out thriller with a strong sense of authenticity."
