In The Top Ten Things Dead People Want to Tell YOU, Mike Dooley does what seems like the impossible; he lifts the veil off of a somber and often terrifying event in everyone’s lives, losing a loved one. Throughout this book, you will feel spiritually uplifted and learn to accept that your loved ones have never truly left you, but remain a presence that guides you through life’s often rocky journey.  The book’s greatest gift is the author’s ability to help us understand what until now has been something that we could not or would not because of our grief.  I’d also recommend that you buy another motivating book. It’s called When God Stopped Keeping Score, which takes what everyone will agree is an unflinching look at the power of God and forgiveness. It will make you re-examine your views on forgiveness and possibly change your life.

I wanted to like this book since in the past I have admired Mike Dooley's thoughts. This book was a disappointment to me. It has rather sappy letters from the dead, written by Mike Dooley, and lacks any references that might have influenced him to have such strong beliefs on what to expect when we die. Many similar books, for example "Dying To Be Me", have more substance since the author actually experienced death and returned to tell of the event. I expected "The Top Ten Things Dead People Want You To Tell You" to have been more than just the author's beliefs without saying what references formed them.

If you are Christian, don't read this book. The reason this book is not getting better ratings is because it is being reviewed by people who have limited belief systems. If that's you, don't waste your time or money. If you are ready for the truth and have a truly open mind, then give it a go! It has propelled me forward in my journey immensely.

A book that really causes you to think! Many books are just enjoyable to read but don't promote a lot of deep thought. If you want to go beyond "just reading for pleasure" try Mike Dooley's great book.

Still reading the book and finding it hard to plough through because it's so repetitious. However, I will eventually finish it as I've pulled a couple of interesting pieces of information from the pages.

Amazing insight that seemed to make so much sense to me. I would not have been ready for this book a year ago and yet I'm so glad i learned of it then! It's held my curiosity since before it was released. Timing is everything!

I was highly disappointed by the contents. It was scattered, and it lacked substance. I like Mike, his way of thinking and enjoyed his other books, but found myself along with many other where I could not be taken deeply into the content. I could not read the book cover to cover in one sitting. In fact, I skimmed through the pages as well as others trying to find something that I could process through my own veil of perception. I've read his notes lately and noticed the same style of writing and thoughts have translated into this book. It is an elementary writing style.

He talks about reincarnation. As christian, I don't believe on that subject. If the idea of being reincarnated in order to learn lessons from mistakes in the past while living on earth, then how can we learn from our mistakes if we don't remember them when we come back (this is nonsense)? The dead are confined...they cannot reveal themselves such as in the story of Lazarus in Luke 16.
