Stories like this simply have me longing for more. I love the history, the scenery, and the passion showed through the delightful characters created by Michael Phillips. If it were possible to demonstrate a standing ovation in a book review, this one definitely deserves it!
Along the Way - Janet Hovis
This series stirred my soul and challenged my thinking while it entertained. That’s one of the highest praises that I can give to a book. Would you love it? I’m not sure. It really depends on whether you can slow down, breathe deep and read slowly and thoughtfully. If you can do that then I’m certain that these books will not disappoint.

Eclectic Reading - Glenajo Shambeck
Mr. Phillips has given us quite a story and it is filled with the wonder of countries that I have not been to in a time before industry took over. I liked this book and really did not want it to come to an end.

From beautifully describing the Welsh landscape, exploring the Celtic history and explaining every-day living and hierarchy of personal status, the book’s consistent reminder of God’s love, forgiveness and truth plays a precious part in reconnecting broken relationships among the characters. With many twists of events, introduction of several interesting, unassuming and heart-felt characters, Phillips intertwines the lives of the Westbrooke manor into a wonderful love story of mercy, compassion and spiritual growth. One is kept guessing if Percy finds his true love, if Florilyn actually marries a man who wants her money, if the dead uncle’s wishes are followed through or is the true treasure the triangle between God and specific people and not a place.
Without a doubt, this author should be added to the bookshelf of exceptional, understanding and wonderful novels where all loose ends are concluded yet there is a yearning for more and more.

Although this is the second book in the author's Green Hills of Snowdonia series, Michael Phillips’ writing had me hooked from the very first page. The author’s excellent writing and attention to detail involved me immediately in the period and setting, and especially the plot. His characters’ motivations and emotions were deftly revealed, including the inner turmoil they each faced. This is a story of young friends who must overcome personal obstacles in their search for growth and, eventually, the love they seek. But it is more than a simple period romance – it’s a return to the beauty of classical writing at its best. Though I have not read the first release in the Snowdonia series, this book stands on its own as an excellent and highly recommended read.
