The doctrine of particular atonement has been historically vilified and treated with contempt by many. Throughout the sphere of Christianity, there have always been men who deny particular atonement by appealing to emotional trends and not exegetical truths. Arminians, in all of the frivolities they broach against Calvinism, are incessant about denigrating the Gospel of particular atonement. There are even professing Calvinists who will treat the doctrine of Christ's particular and effectual death like it is a trivial matter that should never divide anyone. For these reasons, Arminians and apostate Calvinist defectors need to be principally advised that particular atonement is not the doctrine of adiaphora. It is the Gospel! Only the Gospel of particular atonement can explain how Christ fulfilled all that was typologically set forth in the Levitical economy, and how He redeemed (Eph. 1:7), reconciled, (Rom. 5:10), removed guilt (2 Cor. 5:21), and placated His Father's judicial wrath (Rom. 3:25) for the elect. My prayer is that God will open the eyes of many to see the Gospel of particular atonement as it is seen in the pages of Scripture.
