I found this book while looking into moving from ultralight backpacking to hammock backpacking. There is so much information in this little book that it is mind boggling. Derek's illustrations are great, and really help the reader understand what he is writing about. Everything form what to bring, options on how to hang, stay dry, warm, safe, are in this book. I'm so glad I found this as I was getting started as a hanger. Definitely saved myself a lot of confusion. Check this book out if you have ever even thought of trying a backpacking hammock. Maybe you will be a convert too!

I've been hanging for a little while now and thought I knew everything I needed to know about hammocks but this book explained everything about being comfortable in my hammock. The section on suspension was particularly enlightening for me and all the information came with illustrated examples.
