This book starts out right in the action! Its first chapter tells of teh battle of Dien Bien Phu. Then it takes you into a overview of the cold war and how the Vietnam war got started. Don Lawson, this great author, compared and contrasted the Guerilla warfare tactics of the Vietminh forces to the untrained nieve U.S. forces. The Untied States in the Vietnam War is filled with great action photographs that were given to the author from the United States Defense Department.I love how the book is wrapped up. He says that the war, when it ended, was a stalemate. The U.S. killed many, but also shed so much blood and lose so much money. He put it in such a great way. All in all the book was geniously written. It is a good read that keeps you wanting more. I recommend it to all.
