Architect and transportation specialist Warren argues that we can
address both the alienation of modern cities and environmental
dangers by concentrating population in dense developments and
providing adequate public transportation to reduce the use of private
automobiles and leave room for green things to grow. She describes
and illustrates examples of the principles being applied in Europe,
North America, and Asia; and offers designs for extending the
concepts. Includes eight pages of color plates.
