Jezalyn begins a new chapter of her life, out from under the over-protective hand of her grandfather. A new job in a bookstore, a new place to live, she is determined to take on the world and to revel in the surprises she will find in the town of Transylvania,( USA, not Romania). Apparently that first big step into independence may hold a bigger surprise than she can imagine! Let Sabrina Street draw you into her world of vampires, not your normal vamps, but Sabrina Street’s vamps, in The Vampire Keeper. There is more to the friendly shop owners than meets the eye. They faithfully serve and protect Larkin, an ancient vampire who actually can be a relatively nice guy under all those fangs. One simple accident, involving broken glass and a little cut are all it takes as Jezalyn and Larkin become bound and her thoughts are crashing into his mind. So how can he be kept a secret from Jezalyn when she is living and working right above his underground apartment? Unknown to Larkin, an old family feud is about to erupt and Jezalyn will become a pawn in this wicked game. How will he keep his human servants and Jezalyn safe without her finding out what he really is? Maybe Jezalyn should have listened to her grandfather and stayed home a she discovers an old journal she has been reading is more than the writings of a soul lost long ago. Starting at a nice walk, this tale increases to a full gallop as it winds through each page. Ms. Street has created a different take on vampires that will appeal to those just testing the waters of the paranormal phenomena. Sure, there’s some blood, (hello, vampires…) but the romance is pretty tame and not the main part of this tail. The battle of good versus evil becomes a family affair, and holy batwings, the latecomer to the party rocked it!
