Julieanna Hever's latest book is a well-researched and succinctly presented overview of the how and why of the plant-based diet. A great primer for beginners, the book will also interest more seasoned veg heads as it draws some unique conclusions, especially on the role of fat in the diet, based on recent nutritional research. You might expect a dry read from a nutritionist, but I was surprised to find the best part of The Vegiterranean Diet to be its heart. Julieanna channels the culture of the Mediterranean to share her passion not just for health, but for life. Picture long dinners shared amongst friends, celebrating life, food, and friendship with beautiful ocean views. In order for healthy eating to take the world by storm (a revolution we sorely need) it has to be fun, delicious, abundant, joyful, and just a touch indulgent. This book is just the catalyst we need.
