About the Author
Margery Williams Bianco (1881-1944) was an English-American writer, best known for her timeless story of a child's love for his toy, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT. Born in London, Williams moved to the United States as a child. At the age of nineteen, she returned to Britain and began publishing novels, none of which achieved much success. Following the first World War, Williams returned to the United States and published THE VELVETEEN RABBIT, earning her acclaim. Williams continued to publish works for children and young readers until her death in 1944.
