Overview
Two offworld species, disturbingly human and alltogether alien. How do twenty-first century humans react when confronted with comparable intelligence residing in "their" solar system? Microbiologist Tandra Grey finds new hope for an ailing Earth and her own future when she makes first contact with alien neighbors too intelligent, too nosy, and too near to ignore.
The first novel in Cary Neeper's Archives of Varok series, The View Beyond Earth is an update of Neeper's 1975 science fiction classic, A Place Beyond Man. The novel reimagines 21st Century Earth as Tandra Grey, the elll Conn, and the varok Orram begin the adventures that will take them from Earth to the Oort Cloud, with several stops in-between. Their story continues in Nautilus silver medalist The Webs of Varok and its sequel The Alien Effect, with two more volumes yet to come.
