About the Author

T. E. MacArthur is an author, artist, and historian living in the San Francisco Bay Area with her constant companions, Mac the Ghost Cat (2000-2015) and Calypso the Floofy kitten (2015 - .) She has her Bachelor's Degree in History and has spent many an evening deeply engrossed in subsequent Anthropology, Geology, Criminal Investigation and Art courses. Writing remains, however, her passion. She has written for several local and specialized publications and was even an accidental sports reporter for Reuters International News.

The Volcano Lady: Volumes I - IV follow the adventures of Victorian lady scientist Lettie Gantry, through the worlds of Jules Verne. The Gaslight Adventures of Tom Turner continue the thrilling adventures of the Yankee, following the time honored tradition of cliffhangers, dime novels, penny dreadfuls, and weekly serials.

T.E. MacArthur has done it again. In the continuing adventures of the Volcano Lady, Professor Lettie Gantry, Volcanologist, MacArthur has crafted a tale of adventure and intrigue with romantic undertones. Lettie Gantry’s struggle to be recognized in her professional capacity faces unrelenting challenges because she is a woman. In this volume 4, we find threads of misogynistic and racial prejudice that resonate with current times. MacArthur is a strong storyteller who can weave thorough and detailed research into her story line and keep it moving at a rapid pace. Having not been able to put it down on first reading, I’ll go back and read it again, more slowly this time!
