Overview

James Oswald is a successful novelist in Texas, carrying on the literary tradition of his famous and recently deceased father. James' career is thriving, but after following a writing formula devised by his father, he wonders if he can step out of the shadows and find a true voice of his own.
Abby Hudson has the New York high life in her grasp. She has a great job, a loving boyfriend, and enough family money to keep her sitting pretty for life, but Abby has traded the life she really wanted for a cliché... and she's almost ready to admit it.
Though strangers to one another, Abby and James discover an unforeseen connection when a set of unique love letters surface. Linked by the letters and an extraordinary family mystery, they learn that the keys to changing their future may be hidden in the choices of those in the past, provided they can avoid repeating others' mistakes.

About the Author

A.E. Barnes is a research program coordinator by day, a novelist by night, and a dreamer at all hours. She was born and raised in West Texas, the only girl among three rowdy brothers, whom she credits in part for the sense of danger and adventure that fills her stories. She is particularly fond of fantasy worlds, as reflected in her debut novel, The Raven Son, but she loves to write or read any story with memorable characters, a depth of heart, and vivid imagination. She is currently working on the next two books in the Union Chronicles series. A.E. Barnes currently lives in the Texas Brazos Valley with her husband Joshua.
