Kindle is $9.99 per book when you buy one at a time. Paperback is $7.78 to $11.77 so why would a loyal nook color owning barnes and noble customer with barnes and noble card pay $12 per book in an ebook boxed set?

Love Craig Johnsons' work...Longmire and company are great well-drawn characters....I'm even addicted to the TV series. That said, I believe that 48.99 for this bundlke is absolutely ridiculous. If your local library is like mine, they probably have all of the e-books for loan at no cost. So, sadly, my rating for THIS product is POOR.

Craig Johnson has given us a wonderful, well defined characters. The world he's created is so believable, filled with facts (I look things up)'s an absolute joy-filled read. This would be a great club selection; so much to discuss. Amazing for those of us who relate to Longmire's timeline as well as the younger generation who can catch a glimpse of 'what was'....

I read the entire Longmire series before I realized there was a TV show by the same name. By that time I was madly in love with Walt Longmire, Henry Standing Bear, Vic Moretti (whose hilariously foul mouth and flip attitude toward her boss doesn't translate well to the TV show) and "the usual" crowd. The stories are engrossing, the humor is clever and intelligent, and "the Cheyenne Nation" will forever be one of my favorite characters. The books are narrated by the Sheriff, so his point of view is the launching point for some superbly gripping stories. Craig Johnson is one heck of a story teller. I can't wait to read more! This four-book set was a gift from me to my husband, who thoroughly enjoyed the first book and is looking forward to reading the rest. He's already purchased the next two in the series.

I bought for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift and he can't put them down. We are also now watching the TV series together because he liked the books so much :) I will probably read the books too once he's done with them. Seems like I'm missing out on good stuff.

I loved the TV series but love the books even more! This is intelligent writing that describes the Wyoming land and people better than any I have ever read and after 60+ years of reading that's a lot of books! The characters have great depth. I find myself laughing and sighing at the details. If you love good books that respect you as a reader, that fill your imagination with enough details to give you brilliant pictures, these are the books to read.

Got hooked on the TV show and thought I would read the books. The characters are clearly defined but the writing style is a bit difficult to follow at times. This is certainly not literature.

If you like the television show, you will LOVE the books. The author includes lot of little details that can be researched for authenticity. Craig Johnson is very skilled at developing his characters which only adds to the enjoyment of any book. Well-told stories that are well written.
