Although this book covers all the basics for learning how to use watercolor, it also takes a rather unique approach by dealing with specific issues and problems that a watercolorist -- novice or experienced -- will likely face. Arranged around these problems and ordered in such a way as to "build" on acquired skills, the book is easy to reference. The example paintings were generally strong, and the demonstrations decent in giving the reader an idea of how the process of painting is so unique to watercolor. This is a good one for your reference shelf!
