There seem to be a million diet/health/lifestyle books currently on the market. This one is different. How is this book different? Most diets last for a certain number of days. At the end of that time, the weight will start to return; the diet is over. This book attempts to re-program the stomach to be satisfied with smaller portions. It is all about reduced portion sizes. This book also authorizes a specific mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. For instance, eating nothing between breakfast and lunch will make you overeat at lunch. The author advocates the 80/20 Rule. Eat healthy foods, like fruits and vegetables, 80 percent, or more, of the time, and spend no more than 20 percent of the time eating bad foods, like soda and ice cream (the book gives lists of good and bad foods). That's right, nothing is forbidden in this book. It is important to learn to stop eating when you are satiated, not when you are full (there is a difference). Get away from the "Clean Plate Club" mentality taught by your parents. When it comes to exercise, moderate exercise is more than enough. There is no need to train to run a marathon, unless you really want to run a marathon. Getting your heartbeat up for 30 minutes at a time, several times a week, is all you really need. Also, standing burns more calories than sitting, so do more standing during the day. This book feels very plausible, and easy to follow. For those who have tried every diet available, maybe a new approach is needed. Instead of counting calories, try getting your stomach to be happy with less food. This book is very much worth checking out.

Finally, a plan that I can maintain as a lifestyle! Andrea clearly lays out a way of life that promotes healthy relationships to food, mind, and body in a fun and practical way. Results come and goals are achieved with her realistic strategy that allows room to enjoy life through balance.

This book is truly fantastic. It is a simple read and breaks down nutrition and fitness in a manageable way for my busy schedule. Definitely would recommend to anyone out there who is tired of dieting. This book is helping me create a lifestyle with food and a healthy mentality to food and fitness.

I heard about this book from a friend of mine who trains with Andrea in LA. She got him ready for his wedding in 6 weeks doing what’s outlined in this book. First of all he looked awesome for his wedding. Secondly and more importantly he still looks great two years later. And the biggest thing is that it wasn’t this crazy adjustment to his life. So I got the book. It’s not what I expected. It addresses my life as a whole which I don’t usually go in for but she’s pretty funny. I totally get now why my friend looks so great and i’m looking forward to getting started myself.

It is absolutely refreshing to finally have a fitness expert who addresses real life and how to deal with it without shame. The Way In is a godsend for me who doesn't have the time to exercise the way normal people do and shows me how to eat what I WANT to eat, not what everyone else says I should eat. The five life strategies she shares are exceptionally easy to understand and adopt. I'm already down two pant sizes and my Apple Watch tells me I've exceeded my goals every day! Thank you, Andrea!

I don't usually write reviews... but I had to with this book. Andrea's is a completely different approach to weight loss. She completely changed the way I thought about food and exercise. I was killing myself with grueling hour-long workout classes, super restrictive diets, with very disappointing results. I cannot believe the time wasted punishing myself and living so limited. This. Book. Changes. Everything. You will learn to look at food in a completely different light. Believe me... I know it sounds corny! This is not a diet... this is not some fad workout craze...Andrea will teach you how to completely revolutionize your life and start incorporating healthy choices and fitness into your everyday life. I really never thought I'd be this person... but here I am! Do yourself a favor and start NOW!
