The recipes in this cookbook are wonderful traditional renditions of some of the most delicious foods we ate and enjoyed while growing up in the big city. These recipes have been used and continue to be used daily in our family. Many recipes are traditional to most Italian families. A.J.Buonpastore is probably one of the most informed, experienced author of any cookbook or recipe book available anywhere. His vast knowledge of fine foods expands over more than five decades. A. J. started in the food business as a youngster delivering groceries for a neighborhood meat, fish and produce market. At an early age A. J. owned and operated his very own Italian delicatessen and produce market. Eventually becoming manager of one of Philadelphia's most prestigious and well known fancy food and gourmet shops.
