I'm a big sucker for marriage of convenience stories. Who doesn't love a fairytale? The Wedding Wager didn't disappoint. Megan's tough luck tugged at my heartstrings. The girl needed a break, and on boy, what a break Kevin Wake is! A hero like Kevin is guaranteed to make you swoon. If you're a fan of Harlequin romance, check out this one. You won't be disappointed!

Enjoyable Marriage of Convenience with great family characters. Kevin Wake has turned his back on his overbearing father, rejecting all claim to the wealth and property he'll inherit--provided he's married--on his 25th birthday. But when his mother calls, warning him the unscrupulous Wake, Senior, is about to sell her beloved family ranch, Kevin's got to find a bride in a hurry. Lucky for him, the charming Megan Mully is fresh out of the hospital and desperate for work. Although they can't help feeling suspicious about each other's motives, Kevin and Megan agree to help each other by getting married. Megan and Kevin quickly find their mutual attraction goes much deeper than money. He's practical and considerate, she's sweet-tempered and resourceful. As they grow closer to their formal wedding date, they're pretty sure they want the marriage to stick. But can anything stick against the diabolical opposition of Kevin's father? Of course the answer is "yes!" in this enjoyable marriage of convenience novel. "Wedding Wager" is a rags-to-riches fantasy story full of enjoyable secondary characters (my favorite: Kevin's 14-year-old wannabe vampire sister), family, ranch-hands, horses, puppies, and love. Cue the pipe organ...here comes the bride!

Reviewed by Kerliza Foon for Readers' Favorite Regina Duke has outdone herself in this contemporary romance novel, The Wedding Wager, Colorado Billionaires Book 1. With less than a month until his 25th birthday, Kevin Wake is growing more and more doubtful that he will meet the perfect candidate to present to his mother as his fiancée. If he does not find a candidate in the next couple of weeks, his entire inheritance will be lost and his brother and sister will be at the mercy of his father. With nothing left to lose, he places a 'help wanted' ad in the newspapers. Time has almost run out when a perfect candidate appears, Megan Mully. Only one problem. She seems too good to be true. Can Kevin really trust her or does she have a secret agenda that she's hiding from him? Is she working with his father to keep him from his inheritance? Regina Duke's The Wedding Wager is a comically sweet romance. Megan and Kevin were adorable, and I loved the wholesome appeal of their story. While this novel fits the genre of contemporary romance, it is not your typical romance in which the male and female leads spend most of the book worried about how quickly they are falling in love, and if their partner loves them back. It offers a nice reprieve from that angle most romance novels take on and gives the reader a different spin on family drama. I give this book kudos for the well written way in which it is presented. The characters have both their flaws and strengths, and the plot has interesting twists and turns.

Sweet Romance Here we have book 5 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. This story focuses on Madlyn Lake... she is dealing with a broken heart... Her best friend Vicky convinces her to go to a family wedding and make a trip out of it to spend some time together. While there she meets a man named Kirby. They hit it off big time, but she thinks he is just a driver for a rich man... What happens when the truth comes out? This was another wonderful read by Regina Duke! I loved the characters' personalities! What an entertaining couple! A beautiful sweet story that made me smile! I really enjoy this series! *copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

## This was an ok read. Not great but not horrible either. I liked it a lot better than "The Wedding Hazard" by this same author. That book was simply awful and I would recommend NOT buying that one. This story was also a marriage of convenience, but much better written. At first I didn't like the heroine but after the first few chapters she changed into this amazing woman (personality transplant?). I enjoyed the hero and the secondary characters as well. The part that was lacking was the romance. The connection between the hero and heroine. That spark, so to speak. Anyway, this book falls somewhere in between not bad and not great.
