A story of power, greed and whether both can be overcome as a matter of conscience.

Rori Cahill is a young, tenacious journalist who is about to uncover the story of a lifetime. Neil O'Connor is a has-been Washington reporter with a meticulously nurtured fondness for Jameson whiskey. Together, the pair will put their own lives and that of their friends in jeopardy in the pursuit of the truth.

When Rori meets Neil at a post-election news conference, they embark on a quest for the real story behind the Vice President's sudden illness. They uncover an intricate mystery that starts at a private medical facility in Maryland and unravel a conspiracy to assassinate the president in the next election. The story weaves them through the lives of Washington's powerful and greedy, who will stop at nothing to maintain their control.

Rori's toughness, which sometimes encumbers clear thinking, takes her on an elaborate journey as the tale unfolds: will the story be worth the price...?

About the Author

Thom Linehan is the youngest of fifteen children. He grew up in Waterloo, New York, on a farm that is still in the family. The country life gave him the freedom to develop his own adventure. That freedom lent itself to stories, which after written were put into a box.

After retirement from a career as an Industrial Engineer Supervisor with a major corporation in Connecticut, he and his wife, Judy, moved to Denmark, Maine.

The stories have crawled out of the box.
