Not only does Jim Kobak provide practical information such as why singing the YMCA song at weddings and bar mitzvahs is better for your cross-country skiing technique than the Hokey Pokey or the Macareno, and which direction to head when you are lost ("south"), I particularly appreciated his advice on the ultimate question: How to disentangle from the pretzel position without training as a Cubist painter. The rules of this web site do not allow me to reveal the answer, but this book will give it to you and more. It is a very funny book and is stocked with many nuggets that will be useful to skiers of all levels.

This really made me laugh, and people who have never skied enjoyed it too. Kobak is a master of the language, a deft comedian and knows his skiing.
