This really took me back to the 50s and 60s, to a time l miss. This may have been written geared towards the younger set, but I throughly enjoyed this story which takes place in Alabama about a group of young cousins who meet at they're grandmother's and aunt and uncle for the summer. The occasional drawings in the book only add to the story. Light reading to be sure but very well written for a first time author. So if you want a change from sex and violence, give this one a try. You will not be disappointed

An enjoyable read. Did not expect the Faith lesson but I thought of so many people that may be grappling with the questions about young lives lost. Tragic & heartfelt. Lessons for the young and old in a setting that evokes the importance of a loving family & neighborly love. The Wiregrass reminds me of tales of The Low Country. A simple & different way of life but with life lessons that run deep through generations. Unique characters paint the picture of this lovely book. Looking forward to another Wiregrass novel.

Entertaining characters and reminders of what it was like to be young in the South. Like the author's writing style.
