Josef, an ancient Vampire is returning from a business meeting when he senses a Wolf in trouble. The amount of blood he can scent is telling him that the Shifter will, most probably, not survive. So why does he stop? Why does he ruin one of his best suits to rescue the beast?
He is unsure, but he does, taking the Shifter back to his home to watch over it as it slowly heals. When Gabe, the Wolf, awakens, his cheeky repartee causes something to happen that Josef didn’t think he was capable of again. He smiles, even laughs, at the cheeky wit of the young Wolf.
What happens next? Will Josef and Gabe become friends? Will the young Wolf like the somber, ancient, Vampire?

Really like Josef and Gabe. Looking forward to the series.
The Beginning Josef meets Gabe was absolutely brilliant. A.K. Michaels has done it again dazzling her readers with her phenomenal writing skills. I loved the history between the Ancient Vampire and The Wolf. Josef acute sense of smell and an instant gravitation towards the injured wolf made him stop on his way home from a business meeting. Why he stopped? that’s still a mystery, but he knew he needed to help the dying wolf. This was the start to an everlasting friendship between two powerful supernatural beings. The banter between Josef and Gabe flowed seamlessly. I laughed, had my emotional outburst but I fell in love with these two amazing characters all over again. Thank you A.K. Michaels for letting me experience the beginning of my favorite series with my favorite vampire and Wolf.
