This book takes the guesswork out of detoxing and gives the reader clear steps to follow to increase their health and lower their body weight, naturally. It is written in a manner that’s easy to understand, and the whole process only takes about 2 weeks, which is perfect for those who want to try something new, but don’t want to invest a lot of time unless they are sure it will work for them. The list of super foods included is one of the best features, you can just add a few items from the list to your regular shopping and you will have a full detox menu at arms length!
Given all the resources out there about detox it was hard to know where to start, but this book was a great help in educating myself on not only what exactly is involved, but also how to do it the proper way. Perhaps most importantly it shares quite a few things which you can use and incorporate into your health plan long-term even if you are not doing a detox at the present time. It also gives some good recipes and discrete pointers on how to avoid common pitfalls and set realistic expectations. I also found the addition of commentary on exercise and self-confidence a nice way to round out the approach.
When it comes to diets, I have tried every diet that is on the market. I have tried eating only carbs. I have tried no carbs. I have tried cutting calories. I have even tried cutting out glutens, nothing has even seemed to work. I was not sure if I would ever find the right choice for me when it comes to diet plans. Someone told me about the Detox diet. I thought that this was just going to be another fad diet. I was very wrong. This book offered me an idea of what I should and should not do to be able to utilize the diet for the purpose of losing weight. I was actually shocked that it was against the idea of using over-the-counter detox or cleansing agents. I was very happy with this book, and I am looking forward to using more of the tips and tricks that it gives along with the delicious meal plans. My favorite recipe is the All Green Smoothie. It is something that even my daughter loved.
Usually when the title of a book says "ultimate", I am prepared to be disappointed as it rarely contains as much information as I would expect an "ultimate" guide to give. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this truly is an ultimate guide and contains all the information I need to try a safe and healthy detox from before the beginning of it all the way through to after the detox is done. I was hoping for one of those quick and drastic detox diets since I really didn't understand much of what a detox diet is truly meant to do. However, that fantasy was quickly gone as I read what detoxing should and should not look like in straightforward language easy to understand. I guess it is a good thing I read this book before running into one recommending harsh and dangerous methods as now I know better than to try something unsafe like that. I especially like how it lays out the diet for 14 days including shopping lists, etc. so I don't have to think too much on those days that I will feel sick while detoxing. I am confident I now have a clear picture of how and why to safely detox and I can't wait to get started and start enjoying some of the benefits listed that will start appearing as I get healthier through detoxing and a healthy diet!
