About the Author

Piper Vaughn wrote her first love story at eleven and never looked back. Since then, she’s known that writing in some form was exactly what she wanted to do. A reader at the core, Piper loves nothing more than getting lost in a great book—fantasy, young adult, romance, she loves them all (and has a thousand book library to prove it!). She grew up in Chicago, in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and loves to put faces and characters of every ethnicity in her stories, so her fictional worlds are as colorful as the real one. Above all, she believes that everyone needs a little true love in their life…even if it’s only in a book.

A short and cute read about one of Santa's elves who falls in love with a human man. Wes and Garnet have a sweet and gentle relationship that develops quickly after Garnet crashes an experimental sleigh near Wes's secluded cabin. They were so adorable together and I just wish this could have been longer.

It's been five years since Wes last dreamed of Garnet. Although Wes has changed considerably, Garnet is exactly the same... well, almost the same. There is the small matter of pointed ears, a sleigh, and the fact that his dream friend is now a living, breathing, beautiful man who says he loves Wes and wants to stay forever. Garnet has been in love with Wes for almost as long as he can remember. Only able to visit him on Christmas Eve every five years, Garnet has watched the quiet child who holds his heart grow into a man. He's determined that this year will be different. He'll win Wes' love and give up the North Pole to finally achieve his heart's desire. Unfortunately for Garnet, his plans to woo Wes aren't working out quite like he envisioned. In all actuality, the entire trip has been a disaster from the very beginning. What's a love sick elf to do? THE WORKING ELF BLUES is a light hearted and entertaining Christmas novella that also contains romance, poignant emotions, laugh-out-loud humor, furry friends, and a sneak peek into Santa's inner circle of elves that has never been seen before.
