Lexi Ryan does it again. Few authors consistently connect with me the way Lexi's work does. Her characters are believable and leave me with literal butterflies. This was another Lexi Ryan I couldn't put down. I can't wait for the next in the series!

THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE is the first instalment in Lexi Ryan’s contemporary, adult THE BOYS OF JACKSON HARBOR erotic, romance series focusing on the Jackson siblings. This is thirty-three year old, single father Dr. Ethan Jackson, and twenty-four year old, nanny Nicole ‘Nic’ Maddox’s story line Told from dual first person perspectives (Nic and Ethan ) THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE follows Nicole Maddox in the wake of the wedding that never happened. Discovering, on the day of her wedding, that her fiancé knocked up her twin sister Veronica, Alabama born and bred Nicole Maddox heads to places unknown only to land in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her sister’s ID, and a job as a nanny to a widowed doctor. But an almost one-night stand finds our heroine face to face with her new employer, a man who isn’t happy about what might have been. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship and building romance between Nic and Ethan, and the potential fall-out as Nic keeps secret her true identity to help a woman who is struggling to move forward with her life. Nicole Maddox is struggling for some direction in life but with the loss of her fiancé, her future and potentially her twin sister, Nicole accepts the position as nanny to a six year old girl, a precious child who is unaware of the animosity between her father and our heroine. Dr. Ethan Jackson struggles with issues of trust including the betrayal by the woman with whom he was once in love. When his mother announces a bucket list vacation, our hero is desperate for child care and accepts his mother’s help in hiring the nanny with whom he will fall in love. The relationship between Nic and Ethan begins as an almost one-night stand but Ethan is quick to judgement when he discovers that his daughter’s new nanny is the woman he found drunk at his brother’s bar. Unable to look beyond the heart break and pain of Nicole’s shattered heart, Ethan places an end date of their personal and professional relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I take issue with the use of a certain four-letter word, regardless of the situation or context involved. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Nicole’s sister Veronica; her ex-fiance Marcus; Nic and Veronica’s friend Teagan Chopra : Ethan’s daughter Lily; his sister Shay, and their brothers Jake, Levi, Brayden, Carter, their mother Kathleen Jackson and bartender Ava. Ethan’s brothers are easy going and fun. Ava and Jake’s story is next. THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love that introduces the Jackson family of Jackson Harbor, Michigan. The premise is fast paced, entertaining and heart breaking; the characters are energetic and charismatic; the romance is seductive and hot.

The Wrong Kind of Love is the right kind of story. Lame pun but the story makes up for it. Jackson Harbor makes up for it. And if for some reason that wasn't enough, I have 5 Jackson men that will entertain, flirt, and seduce you. Not to mention a family that steals your heart! The Wrong Kind of Love reels you in with an unforgettable blurb. I mean seriously, her sister pukes on her bouquet and mentions the baby daddy is the groom. That is some world class assholery right there from her very own twin. Unforgettable. Mind bogglingly unforgettable. Also the perfect reason to run away...to Jackson Harbor. I can't wait to watch these testosterone laden hotties crumble one by one. Jackson Harbor is the perfect setting. The Jacksons are the perfect characters. I just need the rest of their stories.

I absolutely love a romance book filled with angst, passion and drama and this one does not disappoint. I LOVED IT!!! Ethan and Nicole are characters that are unforgettable and their story is one that is well written. There are definitely heartfelt moments in this read. The back and forth banter between the brothers were amusing and I enjoyed a few laughs along the way. Lilly was so sweet and adorable that you couldn't help but love her. This story was a sweet romance read with just the right amount of steamy scenes and passion. I cant wait to read the next book in this series.

I didn’t want to put this one down. I was so wrapped up in Ethan and Nic’s story that I couldn’t wait to see how everything was going to unfold. I was a bit worried at the start because I did NOT feel comfortable with Nic lying about who she was but once she met Kathleen, I felt better. I think the author did an amazing job showing two very different sides of depression and handled Ethan’s circumstances beautifully. I’m very much looking forward to getting the rest of the family’s stories!

This has 256 nook pages filled with conflict, steamy loving, secrets, also loved Lilly, and the siblings are a nice addition to the story. Hope Teague gets her story too, she deserves her happily after. I did like the touch on depression, it was a good story line, and is a serious issue. Can not wait for the other books, the second one is out now!****

4.5 Amazing Stars! Wrong Kind Of Love is the first book in a new series featuring the Jackson brothers. I loved this story; it had a little bit of everything we romance lovers want in a story and features a single dad. The story begins with betrayal and heartbreak, as described in the blurb, and there are some humorous moments tossed in to lighten it up a bit. With a few surprising twists and turns thrown in I read this book nonstop wanting to know where it would lead us. After finding out her identical twin sister, Veronica, had been having an affair with her fiancé, Marcus, minutes before she said her “I dos” Nicole “Nic” Maddox takes her bags, filled with clothes more appropriate for her honeymoon on the beach, and heads to the airport to get far away from the deceiving duo. Unfortunately she also took her sister’s purse and cell phone, by mistake, and decides to make use of Veronica’s plane reservation to Jackson Harbor, Michigan. Her sister had been planning on moving there, to take a position as a nanny, so Nic decides she can hide out while she decides what to do. One thing she knows for sure is she’ll have to tell Veronica’s new employer there’s been a change in plans, she won’t be taking the position after all, Veronica left with Marcus and she’s currently at the beach. On the honeymoon Nic planned for. Dr. Ethan Jackson is a widower, raising his six-year old daughter, Lily, after wife, Elena, died three years ago. When his mother, Kathleen, who was helping him raise Lily, made plans for a long anticipated trip to Europe, she convinced him to hire a live in nanny, someone he didn’t meet and interview, to help out in her absence. Kathleen made all the arrangements of hiring Veronica and, days before she’s to leave for Europe, she’s surprised by Nic and the news that Veronica won’t be available. Nic explains the situation and she’s persuaded by Kathleen to take the job, while pretending to by Veronica, for a very good reason. Nic hates lying and deceiving, especially after what she’s gone through, there’s a reason she was always called the “good twin”. She agrees to take the job, it’s only for a few months, how much trouble can she get into? “Love born in a lie is THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE.” This is where the story really picks up speed and it seems everyone has secrets they’re trying to keep others from finding out. Poor Ethan has decided love isn’t in his future, he had it once and it ended very badly, so he refuses to put himself out there, ever again. And Nic has had her share of hurt and betrayal, long before Veronica and Marcus stuck a knife in her back. Mixed into the story is the loving and delightful Lily, and all the other Jackson siblings, so get comfortable and plan on being carried away to Jackson Harbor.

Lexi Ryan does a great job building a storyline between Ethan and Nicole, the wrong kind of love seems to be the right kind of good nature romance. It all starts with Nicole's big day, where she is ready to settle down and start a family, only to find out that her groom started without her since he already knocked up her twin sister. This leaves Nicole with the horrifying reality that she will not be married and needs to leave the town she grew up in so she doesn't have to face the embarrassment of being the talk of the town. Nicole goes on an adventure by taking her twin's new job in a small town in Michigan called Jackson Harbor, on her first night there she decided to drown her sorrows in lots of tequila and that only leads to a interesting encounter with a hot stranger. Though all this sounds cliché it only gets more complicated with the choices Nicole makes and the promise that she is supposed to keep. The interesting dynamic that Nicole and Ethan have keeps you glued to the book wanting to know what will happen and how will key people react to all the secrets being hidden. On top of all these secrets lies a great chemistry between Nicole and Ethan. This whole forbidden love thing that goes on through the book only adds in spiking up the sexual tension between Ethan and Nicole and once that snaps there is no one who can say that these two individual aren't perfect for each other. My Only ISSUE!!! I felt that Lexi was to lenient on how she handled the situation between Nicole and Veronica, I would have slapped my sister if she ever did or acted like Veronica acted towards Nicole throughout this story. This book has lots of good nature banter between family, a adorable 6 yr. old who steals everyone's heart, noisy town folks, and hot sex scenes. I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow book lovers and I will be patiently waiting to read the rest of the Jackson family stories. Reviewed by: Glori I.

I would endure bitter, cold weather for just a small taste of Ethan Jackson! Goodness gracious….The Wrong Kind of Love is all kinds of RIGHT! It’s sweet, salacious, and heartbreakingly beautiful, wrapped up in a to-die-for cover! This love story takes you on the wild ride of secrets, lies, and betrayal, while further enticing you with the sinfully provocative relationship between boss and employee. This story isn’t your common hot daddy/nanny story, but a romance that challenges the character’s ability to look past what’s right in front of them, and look deeper into the soul of a person. I loved this book! The storyline, characters, and intensely raw emotions were a stunning blend that simply radiate off the pages! An absolute must-read!!! 5 Stars!

The Wrong Kind of Love by Lexi Ryan is the first book in her brand new series, The Boys of Jackson Harbor . Told in dual POV between Nicole, the twin running away from an almost wedding disaster, and Ethan, the hot guy in the bar AND her new boss. While the synopsis is funny in an epic disaster kind of way, the overall emotion of the book is romance, angst, and love with a side of humor. Nicole is shaken to the core by her sister's betrayal. A little less shaken by the betrayal of her almost husband. Leaving the state with her sisters purse instead of her own by mistake, she ends up taking her sisters flight to Michigan leaving her gossipy town of Jeffe, Alabama in her dust. Ethan has been at a standstill since his wife's death. When his mother insists on helping him hire a nanny so she can go on vacation, a lifelong dream of travelling through Europe, he relents. He lets her handle all the details. When he sees a beautiful woman at his brothers bar one night, her eyes looking just as sad as he feels inside something clicks for him with her like it hasn't once since his wife passed. Pretending to be her twin sister, taking the job that Veronica had lined up to nanny for three months, Nicole is beyond shocked when he mystery man from the bar that brought her pleasure beyond anything she's ever known turns out to be her new boss. Well written and well paced this was a wonderful story or love, healing, family, and fate. Next up: Straight Up Love and Dirty, Reckless Love. Enjoy!

The Wrong Kind of Love (The Boys of Jackson Harbor, #1) I have been a fan of this author for quite some time. There is not a single book I have read by her that has not emotionally ripped me to pieces and then put me back together. She is an amazing word wizard and story-teller. She not only can weave a story perfectly thru a journey but she does it with a straightforward prose that makes her stories relatable and likeable. They are ordinary every-day characters with extra ordinary depth and strength. I have this running joke about Lexi’s work … Be prepared, her feels have feelings. Every single time, the emotion she awakens from within is mind-blowing. One minute you’re reading along a journey of two people and then BAM. That’s how it feels. You just don’t see it coming and it is just glorious. She is unpredictable in her predictability. I say predictability because I’ve read enough of her books that I know what’s coming yet she surprises me every time! The story of Ethan and Nicole hit me in the gut from almost the very beginning. SO much so that I almost stopped reading. There are things/circumstances that happen in this book that I have personally struggled thru and reading their journey brought a lot of my own emotional upheaval to light and I’m really picky about the stories I allow that to evoke out of me. You want to know why I kept going? Because I knew it would be done right. I knew the struggle and #feels would be exposed and weaved into the story properly. And I wasn’t wrong. In the end, yes, I was emotionally spent but my heart so damn happy for Ethan and Nic. Their journey was riddled with secrets and lies that all came from a place of necessity. Even the secrets and lies had depth! This book was not just a story of two people finding love. It was a story of growth and acceptance, new beginnings and opening up, forgiveness and strength. It’s a story of family and friendship. Best of all, it’s a book that introduces us to a wonderful family with strength and perseverance and I cannot wait to read more! A completely new, endearing, refreshing contemporary series from Lexi Ryan that will be melting hearts and new book boyfriends will be stealing the spotlight. The Wrong Kind of Love is the first book in Lexi’s The Boys of Jackson Harborseries and it’s one that can’t be missed. This story is sweet, sexy and a touch of naughty. Trust, fear and insecurity issues are tested between two broken souls that are trying to find their ways/ find themselves. There is just enough angst to keep the fluidity flowing, enough humor to crack the drama and the amount of intense sexual chemistry was off the charts hot! Uprooting her life due to an embarrassing wedding fiasco, Nicole Maddox finds herself in Jackson Harbor, Michigan. To find solace and peach within herself and taking on a nanny job, she ultimately finds broody Dr. Ethan Jackson and his precious daughter Lilly. Secrets, betrayal and omissions unravel putting Nicole and Ethan in compromising positions. Can Ethan’s heart warm to love again after the death of his wife, even when he learns the truth about Nicole in the end? “I’ve been suffocating with grief for three years, and when I touch you, I can breathe again.” Lexi knows how to construct her stories, develop raw, emotional characters and bring on the heat. I really enjoyed The Wrong Kind of Love and Lexi has a winner on her hands. Raw passion fill the pages and you will find yourself looking forward to the next book. 4 Jackson Stars

A Review of The Wrong Kind Of Love by Lexi Ryan Nic and Ethan - 5+++++ Stars This is the first book in a new series and from the introductions that Ms. Ryan provides, this is going to be another best selling series. I totally fell in love with Ethan and the rest of the Jackson clan and look forward to all the other books we will see in this series. I TOTALLY loved Nicole and could understand her insecurities with not being exactly like her twin sister. I thoroughly disliked Veronica for most of the book, but she did show some redeeming qualities by the end of the book. The topic of depression is one that most people try to avoid as much as possible, but it is a fact of life for many people. Having suffered from a bout of it myself, I was proud of the way Nicole stood up for herself and her need to take medication. There were many laugh out loud moments in this story, but there were some real tear-jerkers as well. I wish we, as a nation and a global society, would learn to build each other up instead of always trying to tear someone else down to make us feel better about ourselves--it would make this a much better world to live in. This will definitely be one of those books at the top of my list for this year and one that I will revisit several times. Ms. Ryan has a way with telling a story that makes you feel like you are part of the story and that you know these characters as friends. I love to read her stories! Favorite quotes: “I’ve gotten more foreplay from my gynecologist.” **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**
