I am a freshman in high school. When I read this book, I wanted to read it (and did) over and over again, yet never got tired of it. The author made the characters with their own personalities, which made me feel like I knew them. The young girl in the book (who was in the seventh grade) reminded me of myself when I was her age. 'Year Without Michael' was a fantastic book, and I highly suggest that when anyone gets the chance, they should read it! It was (and still is) an outstanding book, and it puts the reader in total suspense---even when the book is finished. The author leaves you hanging, wondering, 'what will happen next??'. I could not put the book down.

This is a really well-written book. I read it first when I was a teenager, and lent it out, and never received it back. I finally decided I had to re-read it again (I'm 28 now), and ordered it for my Nook. The book is geared toward teens, but I really think anyone of any age would enjoy it. It's very easy to get into, and the characters and dialogue are extremely believeable. It's one of those rare books that got me emotionally involved, and broke my heart along the way. I've read other books by this author, but this one is my favorite.

I loved the book it was very good and like another review said I wish they would have had a ending and I wish they would give a setting I can't figure out a thing about the setting because I want to write a book report but of course I need a setting for it.

Overall I thihnk this book was pretty good...I just think it would have been better if it was longer and if they found him. I don't really like it when books just...end without telling what happened

Words can't describe what I got out of this book! It was a real eye opener... I remember crying in my bathroom while reading this book. I even yelled at the characters! This book was so realistic and I'm so happy that I was introduced to it. The ending really made me upset, but it helped me understand that all things don't have a happy ending. Now, I love to read books like this! I recommend this book to all readers.

Michael Chapman somehow runs away or is kidnapped on his way to a baseball game and to his friend's house. Jody Chapman is the only member in the family who is trying to keep her cool. The mother, Linda quit her her job to stay home and wait for Michael. Will he ever come back? Is the one question. Christmas rolls around and there still isn't any michael. Linda insisted that they get Michael presents just in case he comes home. The present sit, and sit. Everyone starts going crazy. Jody is persistent and keeps herself together!

This book was good but I don't think we should have to read it in school (which we do have to) when they say things like G-D. Our school requires 18 year olds to have notes to watch a PG movie but we're required (the whole school) to read a book with that kind of language!!
